it's kinda crazy but I think there's a legit chance for Mighty No9 Kickstarter to reach the ridiculous Vita stretch goal

Sorry, sir! Going to buy it this game today, sir! Also, not going to inform you about my Credit Card nor I will take my pants off as I'm a man and don't think you would be interested on what I have to show you, sir!

Guys with a long-blond-hair-peruke and lipstick

Good point!

@Kratos0Ace87: welcome to the cult! Glad to see you are happy with PS Vita and it's offer.

I wasn't up to date with the kickstarter, but was there a surge in backings after PSV/3DS got announced to indicate that? Cause right now is still 600k$ short of the goal, which is fucking lot to gather in just 3 days. I'm not even sure if it will get to the PS4/Xbone stretch goal.

As for Tearaway. Great to hear, game looked gorgeous and adorable right from the Gamescom reveal! But if it flops, and I'm afraid it will unfortunately, I hope it will be the last game from SCEE and SCEA, generally Sony studios outside of Japan, for the Vita. That would mean, the Vita is just a bottomless pit in the West, where you can put a lot of money into with miniscule results. Just better to focus on the PS4 where there will be a way bigger chance of recognition and success. Plus PS4 has a lot of potential to be a successful platform but it needs as much quality software as possible especially early on to get a headstart on the competition.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

It won't be the last SCEE game, I'd guarantee that.  xDev does too much work with external studios, they'll continue that throughout Vita's life (they were still pumping out things like EyePet & Invizimals late into PSP's life).

As for SCEA, I've thought they were done with Vita for a while, but FamousMortimer was suggesting that there's an InFAMOUS title coming.  Perhaps Bend are working on something too, although I doubt it.  They've probably got some HD Collections left in them, too.

yeah afaik Kickstarters tend to get some nice boosts towards the last few days and Mighty No.9 numbers have been going up pretty darn fast. They also just announced the composer from Mega Man 2 has joined the project as well

No needs to pull out the check book, and keep it away from DS at least. Maybe first of playstation? and pc cause those guys will be pissed.

I don't honestly expect to see SCEA and SCEE just dropping the PS Vita. Seems like PS4 will do very well by it's own so Sony will try to push some Vita software through second teams from some of their biggest studios. I think they weren't expecting the PS4 to get so much traction before even releasing, so they prepared almost every studio they own to work on PS4 and from now on there won't be a massive pressure on those studios to bring massive titles this soon. They can afford to not announce new games right now, giving quite a few studios some room to breath and, possible, allowing new teams to work on stuff for PS Vita.

Something reminded me of this again today, and it made me very sad that this never happened.

SSX was my game of 2012 (beating off some pretty decent competition from WipEout 2048) and it would've worked perfectly on Vita. The "global events" system on the go... geez. Just download the event over wi-fi before you head out, then have a few attempts while you're out of the house and then upload your score when you get home. Would've been amazing.

I'm hopeful that the newly formed third-party-relations team will make sure that stuff like this doesn't slip through the cracks again (games capable of running; devs expressing an interest in doing it). I guess Vita is kind of limited in the scope of things that can be ported to it (although NFS:MW was impressive), but there's still plenty of upcoming games I'd love to see. Bleh.

Me neither. Even if they lose a few millions on the vita the first years... what would be the alternative?

Leave the handheld market? Companies like Microsoft and Sony pay hundreds of millions to get in a new market? Leaving a market completely due to a rough start? Not gonna happen.

Go back to PSP only? Yeah, right!

Start all over with a new handheld and ditch the vita fanbase? What could they improve? There is nothing wrong with the hardware! The production costs for the vita will sink steadily so they can lower the price tag again. And the software portfolio will grow, even if not as fast as we all want.

I see no alternative for Sony than keeping the Vita and broaden the hardware base with Vita TV.
