There are people in England who would struggle to read all the text in Persona 4, let alone for someone to whom English is a second language.

I used to import a lot of games from Japan for the Dreamcast and they ranged from the language barrier having no impact whatsoever, to not being able t get past the first few screens of the game without a translation guide.

Quick question:

Playing the Vita while it's charging. Is this supposed to be pretty damaging to the battery or is it okay to do that?

Should be perfectly fine to play Vita whilst it is charging. I've never heard of any portable gaming device where you couldn't play whilst charging. Some of my consoles used to be permanently plugged in lol.

Never heard a problem caused by doing that. I usually play it plugged.

Same here. Batteries tend to die at most inconvenient moments :(

Language isn't a barrier for certain games such as hunting games, all you have to know is which option to chose for missions and the little icon pictures will do the rest. Hell I played that Fairy Tail hunting game on the PSP without knowing Japanese. I managed to learn which to chose for battle, items etc. and I didnt have to know about what the frapers was going on. Gameplay is all that maters for such games. Like muso games, hunting games, fighting games and probably racing games.

But when it comes to text heavy or story driven games such as RPGs, then it is better to get those games translated or localized to wherever that game is releasing, ie. if its beeing released in Italy, it should be in Italian and so on and so forth.

Gladlly I don't have problem with english translated games nor RPG nor other text heavy games (catherine)... but I can't lie... Most people prefer their mother language... I even prefer it... but most of RPG come in english so I had to learn.. and next I'm learn to read japanese.. that's it...

The low sells of games like Persona 4 on Europe are due not only to the translation issue.. the low marketing for the game and the Vita in general... SCEE have been forgotting the Vita recentle... :/ but clearly the translation is a reason...

Well it's not Sony's job to market Persona 4: The Golden. That was for Atlus to do. Their EU presence is tiny though and I think it's definitely more of word of mouth title. Their other stuff doesn't sell in mega volumes for the most part either though. I think they said they want to improve their European operations.

Translating the game would definitely help for a lot of countries. I know so many people here are very reluctant to watch foreign language films because they don't like reading subtitles. Imagine them expecting those films to sell without even subtitling them!

SONy's Job is marketing the Vita.. nowaday ANY game they should take part on the marketing even if its a little... being Persona 4 so good seller over Japan and USA markets, they should have take part on the marketing and promote the game and the console...

they have just let the European market of vita freeze off a lot! That could end being a big mistake, because Europe allways have been a strong market for SONy products... PSP and PS3 had good sells on that market, And Vita shouldn't do worse in the long term, but SONy is not taking West market seriously lately, well at least European... that must be Why PS+ is better there... :/

I know what you mean. I remember playing Bleach Soul Carnival a few years ago and had little trouble playing the game though I only know a few words in Japanese from watching anime.

At this age, English shouldn't be a problem for any gamer around the world (I know it's not the case, but generally speaking I think most gamers only prefer their mother tongue, but have no problem with English). I wish every game made had English subtitles. Things would be so much easier for ps games since they're not region locked. I mean, I can't imagine why that would cost more than say $1000.
