Good news

"Nippon Ichi announced today sharply higher earnings forecasts for the current fiscal year.

The company's previous forecasts, announced in May of last year, called for sales of 2,288 million yen, operating income of 107 million yen and net income of 59 million yen. The new forecast issued today has sales down a bit to 2,246 million yen, but operating income up to 303 million yen and net income up to 203 million yen.

As reasons for the increased earnings, the company said that Disgaea 3 Return on PlayStation Vita is selling higher than expected. Additionally, Disgaea 4 on PS3 is selling well in North America and Europe. Download content for Disgaea 4 is also doing well.

The reason the expected sales figure is lower is because games like The Witch and the Hundred Soldiers on PS3 and the North American version of Disgaea 3 Return were delayed beyond the current fiscal year to improve quality and meet consumer expectations. The Witch and the Hundred Soldiers was originally announced for Spring release, but the game's final release date, announced in January, ended up being June 28."

I think it's safe to say that psv digital sales in Jp are much higher than many expected :D I expect the same here..I see many buying 16Gb -32GB cards and they are very likely to buy quite a bit digitally

Yay for Sony Poland ;) Starting tommorrow we will have around 30 places in big cities to ckeck PSV hands on.

I hope this news would help stop the doubters from asking the same question " Does Nippon Ichi games generate profit with such low sales".

 I think this is the first bit of evidence - which isn't from Sony - that can suggest Vita sales are going ahead of projections. Obviously one game could be a statistical anomoly, but its promosing nontheless. If third parties are doing well off of launch titles then that can only suggest more support in the future either way, which is great news.

 I'll be getting DIsgaea 3 for my Vita soon enough I'm sure. Never played a game in the series but seems to fit the handheld type experience and looks like fun.

What 0_0, and here in Sweden we have like one shop that is having it.. + they are doing a tour and going to different cities.

Yep and this shows why they have such a good relationship with Sony..and that's they support them so. I'm sure we will get more games for PSV from them, especially after this news. And I hope their new PS3 game does well too so ps3 will keep getting such support as well.

@Degauser: Exactly but it will fall on deaf ears I'm afraid. I mean this is all when psp is still going strong in Jp. I can't wait to see how things turn out in the coming months

i just took a sneak peak at the last page of mediacreate (i know i know I shouldn't..but kinda bored) but facepalm galore..someone even called ToIR a failure sigh..I hope they realize those sales are actually 70% of the shipment!
