My take on Sony Vita forecast.  Sales could change either higher or lower. It happened before and can happen again.

PSP Vita split won't be 50/50 with PSP declining sales in Japan.  PSP is already non existent in NA. Actually 5M is little high TBH, looking at recent sales. PSP will be down this year. I am seeing a 3M -3.5M for Vita and 1.5M - 2M for PSP.

Recent NPD results for Vita. In 2 months it only sold less than 100K. April until fall won't be different for NA.

Recent M-Create less than 100K in month. May won't be different. In June could reach over 100K. You guys do the Math.

PSP doing less than 50K a month in Japan. Their will be an increase in sales here there but it won't be massive.

What I am trying to say is the first half of Fiscal year is really horrible. Sony is just being realistic here. That doesn't mean it will be discontinued outright. If Sony failed to meet those expactation then goodbye Vita. IMO the real test will be next year if it will be discontinued or not.

VG has it currently has it at 233,536. 

It would be better to down play if for the investors than to shoot high and reduce the forecast. This shows no sign of what Sony is or isn't going to do with the vita.

I was browsing the PSN on my Vita (checking updates, sales, etc) and noticed that Atelier Totori is missing. It just says something like "no items available" after I click on it. Anyone else experiencing this?

Vita need a gta game and a yearly COD and yearly good Fifa games in west and a Final Fantasy ,Dragon Quest,Yakuza to doing well.

Tearaway seems to be very cheap everywhere now, I'm seeing prices varying between £22 and £25, is this game not as big as they made it out to be or are Sony just trying to push for sales?

I'm hoping for latter. I've seen it on zavvi preorder for 25€. Dirty cheap!

Wow, that Vita prediction is completely disheartening.

And it's just... so different from what Sony normally do. Didn't they predict PSP + Vita at 16 million at the start of the last fiscal year? I think it's always better to aim high then reduce predictions. By putting that there they're basically sending out a message that they don't have anything up their sleeves for it.

The only way I can justify it is that it's actually quite a sensible prediction.  Last year, even with Call of Duty/Assassin's Creed, it sold 3.5 million for the year.  If it sells that again with a bit of a boost + 1.5m for PSP then it'll be bang on their prediction.  Perhaps they're just being sensible; and that there is software coming, but it won't provide that big of a boost.

Uff. The more I fall in love with this device, the more I hear bad news about it. E3 can't come soon enough...
