its weird ign.com had an article about this a few days ago. they said it was cut from 512 MG to 256 MG. even though it was never confirmed 512 or otherwise, so how can you cut somethiing that was never final. i mean i bet all consoles were planned to be more powerful than what they released as, but things are cut during development. its not like Sony announced PSV has 512, then a few months later said, oops thats too expensive we are cutting it. im sure all the dev kits they sent out (other than maybe a few really early ones to their first party) had what ever the finalized ram is, not 512.
also the ign article says its 256 mg now, not 320 mg, even though the quote they use doesnt seem to indicate any specific amount of ram. but i hope its 320 MG. also i could have guarentee that after the PSP 1000, all other psp ha 54 MG of ram.
heres the ign article: http://psp.ign.com/articles/118/1184687p1.html
Back in May, IGN reported that the RAM of the PS Vita base model might have been halved, from 512MB to 256MB.
It seems as if Dani Sánchez-Crespo, the CEO of studio Novarama, has confirmed this reduction in an interview withDevelop.
When asked if the alleged RAM cut would affect the studio's output, he replied, "no that won't affect us. It's actually good for developers to work under constraint. Generally for Vita, we still have a whole lot of headroom in terms of GPU power, CPU power and indeed RAM."
He reassured fans that Sony's new handheld will "have a whole lot of headroom in terms of GPU power, CPU power and indeed RAM".
