Forums - Nintendo - WiiU not compatible with non-MotionPlus Wii remotes?

If that is the case, then Nintendo must be banking on packing Skyward Sword with a Wii Remote Plus to aide in the adoption. Or some other packin deal down the line.

i'll be looking for more deals on the flingsmash bundle. I want to have 4 good motion plus controllers for the Wii U when it comes out. I'm really glad that i won't have to buy all new Wii motes.

......Does not compute....

right now i only have 2 wiimotes that are motion plus.  But I want to get 4.  I've been seeing the flingsmash bundle on sale for $20, so I will be picking up a couple so I can get 4 Wiimotes.  Better now than later when they are $50 again.

Ahhh... compile successful!

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

"Nintendo's Wii U console will not support original models of the Wii controller without a MotionPlus attachment, according to comments made by Shigeru Miyamoto."

lol some of you guys need to read before you get all "OMG" :P

you can use the old model and the new one. that means you can attach WMPlust to the old Wiimote or use the new Wii mote that has WMPlus built in it.

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

i dont have one yet, hopefully the new Zelda game will come bundled with one, so i wont have to buy it separatley.

if they mean I can't even use a wiimote with motion plus attached then there is even less of a reason to get Wii U as I'd have to buy all new controllers anyway...
I wouldn't mind all this stuff if there was actually any support left for their current home console... as it is I'm kinda left in the dust...

hardware BC was a good selling point imo.  i don't have any all inclusive wii motes with motion plus.  if i have to rebuy everything i'm going to be very much less likey to buy into a WiiU.

yea i'm happy too.  sucks when new gen starts and your like great i have four pointless controllers and god knows what else amount of stuff i bought that will never get used again

i do need to get some more motion plus add ons though.  only have 1 so far.  guess i'll have 5 controllers since going to get that zelda one.  too tempting to pass up

remember those graphs when consoles come out to show which is cheapest.  you know having to buy 4 controlers and so on to max out system and all that jazz that sony and microsoft popped out.  well looks like the wii u will hav e$0 in that category

"It's likely the extra precision is needed because the new console outputs in HD."

What?

I don't believe this can be true! Wasn't WiiU supposed to be compatible with all Wii games? 90% of the games don't use Motion Plus, why should I buy one to play them?!

It doesn't make any sense, and what's the relation between Motion Plus and HD graphics? LOL

This sounds BS to me.

False.

A quick view of Nintendo's site on WiiU shows that it will use ALL Wii accessories.

http://e3.nintendo.com/hw/#/about

Other Controls:
Up to four Wii Remote™ (or Wii Remote Plus) controllers can be connected at once. The new console supports all Wii™ controllers and input devices, including the Nunchuk™ controller, Classic Controller™, Classic Controller Pro™ and Wii Balance Board™.

As you can see it specifically lists every accessory.

Thanks, also I look into the Iwata Asks and couldn't find where they said that. In fact they mention the use of the Wiimote several times.
