Sony confident Vita battery life will compare to PSP

Sony Worldwide Studios SVP, Scott Rohde has told Gamespot in an interview that he Sony are confident the PlayStation Vita’s battery life will match that of the PSP.

Elsewhere in the interview he also mentioned that Sony is planning to have the trophies “all bundled in together,” therefore Vita and PS3 trophies will sit side by side.

Finally Rohdes also mentioned that the PS Vita will have a fully featured launch, although he did add that the beauty of the console is that it will evolve over time.

Check out the Gamespot interview here.

There’s two versions of the console available for pre-order at launch; a WiFi only model which is available for £228.85 and a 3G enabled model, which is going for the slightly higher, but still great value, price of £278.84.

The Vita will launch before the end of the financial year.

No UMD = Bigger battery.

I would of hoped it would be longer, but its still great to have a decent battery, I didn't mind my battery from my PSP-2000, so this should be fine

That's not terrible, but I was hoping it would be more.

Also, if our retailers don't stop this bullshit overpricing, I'll just import it. I am not paying the equivalent of $378 for Vita >_>

Initial pricing was only available for the United States, where the Vita will cost $249 (£150) for the WiFi only and $299 (£183) for the 3G model.

these are the currency conversion done by the BBC

so 228.85-150=£78.85
and 278.84-183=£95.84 nearly a £100 more than others are paying, :(

correct me if I am wrong
stop me if I am bias
I love a good civilised debate (but only if we can learn something).

Well playing Killzone: Liberation yesterday I had 5 hours on a charge with max brightness. But my PSP is a month old so the battery isn't worn down at all.

Wifi and 3G active will be quite the battery drain after about a year.

6 months in will probably be 4 hours max

That's why WiFi is always off on my phone when not in use, it drains sooo much. They need to do it like PSP, where it only turns on when you both have the slider on and when it needs too.

It's not that bad...

In my country it will be probably over $600 in gray market. In retailer chains it will be over $1000.

I will probably import it. But if my product get caught in the custom house, the inspector will steal it(and give a great christmass gift for his kid) or give 100% tax.
