Forums - Sales - No Pricecuts!

So after all the massive speculation that there would definatley be price cuts from a lot of people on this site includign myself, there was none from either Sony or MS.

Are you dissapointed? were some of you expecting it? and when do you think the price cuts will come now??

Personally im dissapointed as both my consoles are getting old and very noisy so i was hoping to pick up some cut priced slims :(

But im sure last night Sony said that PS3 sales were up YOY, i dont know if they meant that weeek or YtoD, but if sales are up why would they cut price.

Well after a bit of thinking it makes sense - if both Sony and Microsoft are up YoY then they will wait till September or later with new pricing.

I've been assuming Sony would wait till Gamescon to announce a price cut. MS not announcing is kind of surprising though.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

Yup, surprising stuff, but I do expect something for the holidays ;)

I wasn't expecting any price cut at this point. Wouldn't make much sense either. Lowering the price before the big holidays seems to have a bigger impact.

I was expecting one from microsoft. maybe they will announce later into the conference?

Amazon Uk are already discounting the PS3 to £199 thats like £50 off, im not sure if there was a price cut that Sony would go lower anyway, i had thought that Amazon new the price cut was coming at E3 and they thought theyd just get in early, but now it seems like they just have some long term discount which no one else has matched.

Shame tho i was looking forward to some good price cuts all round to make the charts more interesting over the summer.

Will make the holidays more interesting!!

with the consoles selling so well, i wouldn't have expected price cuts from them

if people are still buying them at the current price then no reason to change

They don't really need a price cut at the moment, however atleast one of them has to cut by the end of the year and I think that will happen at either Gamescon or TGS.
