There is a lot of empty space under your hood. Looks like you could drop a bigger engine in there or K&N cold air intake, etc.... Compared to my car you have tons of space under the hood.

That's just from Google Images. Mines an 08 Chevy Cobalt LT. I might get a new car in a year or two though.

It's big for a couple reasons: 1) The same engine bay has to house the slightly longer S54 engine for the M version. 2) The steering's electronic, so there's none of the hydraulic components filling it up. They've actually fit a V12 from the 7 series in there rather easily, and you're not going to get anything longer than an I6 or V12.
Oh, and no, I will not use a K&N air filter. It adds no aditional power (previous owner dynoed the car with it and the stock air intake; the stock intake delivered more power). It also takes up a ton of space and doesn't look very good to me.
