The kids on XBL are just so funny, they are so unique aswell, you will never find people like that anywhere else, on the PC or PS3 its just different. I remember playing Halo2 online all night before and the convo's were good all night until about 9am on a sunday when all the kids got up and every other word was some racist crap, and having sex with whores.

The best times i have ever had online with a headset is on the PS3 back when it was $600 playing RFoM, not a single person under 20, and no retarded conversations either, it was great. On the PS3 now, its just awful, too many kids play it and now and its turning into XBL.

A couple months back in RFOM a guy asked how to play the game (breach). This one dude obliged, but he felt the need to repeat himself over and over and over and over and over. He literally covered what the objective was five times in almost the exact same wording each time, all while providing meta style commentary on how he was playing. I would've gotten my headset and told him no one was so thick that they needed everything to be repeated that many times, but I couldn't do it without leaving the server.

Overall I'd say the worst people are the shitty players who keep on saying "we need to do better guys" or "why don't you people quit dying" - and then the game ends and they went 4-13.

Well welcome to online gaming. I started just using mute on Xbox Live but when you're playing a team game it's annoying to mute a teammate who may still have useful information between his expletive laced racist comments. I ended up only playing after midnight when the European brats were going to school since they are just as annoying just not as prevalent due to lower Xbox sales across the pond. The problem with that was finding decent games.

I haven't noticed as much of it playing PC games online but it sees cheating is a much bigger problem there. I suppose you just have to pick your poison. However, my main problem with online (and the biggest problem on Nintendo's WiFi service) are quitters. I've stopped playing ZeldaPH online since half the time I'm winning the other player quits. So yeah that's online gaming and I doubt it'll ever change.

PC games are generally better...especially when they're new releases...when games get more well-known and cheaper, the kids come in droves.

Like with TF2 on PC, it's been good chatting for months...although now there's a few more stupids out there...not so much kids, just stupids. I think the kids stick to CounterStrike, cause they can't handle playing as a team.

lol, the idiots in the Counter-Strike community believe that since they've been playing for X amount of years that they automatically command respect and should be nearly invincible each round. Cool if somebody played back when Counter-Strike first came out, but if they don't do well they immediatly start on the "Well I've been playing for X years" thing when confronted.

I find the "we need to do better" people okay, but the "I'm doing so poorly that it's all my team's fault" people are what annoy me. You can still be a top player and still be on the losing team, why bitch about everybody else? Obviously there are times when the teams are very uneven, but in times when both teams win and lose rounds pretty evenly, I chuckle a little bit when the guy with a score of 5 kills and 20 deaths in Counter-Strike complains that his team sucks, especially if I'm doing very well and on the same team.

Well sometimes I'm genuinely pissed because I'm in a server with people that aren't as good as me.

I'm pretty good at TF2...I'm no pro, but I'd say I get to the tops of servers half the time. And generally, it's for the good of the team...we all do better as a few individuals do well.

But sometimes, like the server I was just in a few minutes ago...the server just sucks. I couldn't get my team to do anything, they just crowded back in fear, or charged forward like fools. I try telling them where to go or at least just give some advice on what to do, but I get yelled at...ridiculous. Sometimes I wish there was a nice skill ranking system...but that takes some of the randomness and fun out of it I guess.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

hey you were 10 and annoying at one time in your life.

we all have been.

Not necessarily, there's some Year 7 kid in my school, he's like 11 and when we play Halo online he's fine. Well maybe that's because he's a Brigader: Highest Skill 48. I mean shit this kid just massacres people on Halo.

Currently Playing: Gears 2, World at War, GTA IV, Banjo Nuts and Bolts

i'm enjoying a nice game on live. playing halo 3. i go against someone who sounded like they were in elementary school. i kept on beating the kid. he was getting mad. his live tag was Crossflame or Crossfire or something. Anyway i was destroying people. I came, saw, and conquered all. at the end of the battle the kid says "f this bs, suck my (i not saying it)" right at me!!! i would've cussed him out but my girlfriend was in another room talking on the phone and she would've heard me. i was flaming mad! the kid was a bad sport! how many times has this happened to you guys? (this is about the 15th time this week i heard an underaged kid runnin his mouth like a motorboat saying cuss words! if this happens again i'm going to explode on live!!!!!!!

Casts doubt on that myth that Nintendo systems are just for "kiddies", doesn't it?

Everybody knows that children try to be mature well ahead of their time and mimic what they think adult behavior is supposed to be like hence the cursing, the dabbling in illicit substances (both legal & illegal), and early sexual activity.

The games usually referred to as 'adult' & 'mature' should be really labeled 'adolescent' because the themes shown in those games appeal to children who are wannabe adults. Fighting, shooting & blowing stuff up, and comically represented sexual themes. That's what appeals to many teens and pre-teens. And these teens and pre-teens in order to tailor themselves to what they believe is the adult image distance themselves from game with bright colors and illustrated characters labelling them kiddie whether or not they are designed to appeal to young children or not.

In this age range children are extremely self-conscious of their public image and the mask of persona is bolted on the face nearly impossible to remove.

Sorry, daactualfact but you've found yourself in the midst of a demographic who want to fit the image XBox 360 is supposed to have: "adult". So they're now acting "adult". Keyword: Acting.

lol, I remember playing Age of Empires 2 online and rookie, intermediate, and expert were the ways to define you and not 'noob' and every other way of saying the word, 'noob'. Those were the good old days of my internet career.

Back then it was, "You're a rookie at this, but that's okay. Keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it in no time". Now it's "You f***ing noob, go back into your hole where you belong ***!!!!"

Another annoyance of mine. This 'noob' 'newbie' business. You gotta learn somewhere. I'd treat the newcomer like a student and show him the ropes. Like a sensei. If he thought he could start challenging me, I'd welcome the challenge & see how good he is. If he was better than me, then I would improve and we'd have a good fun rivalry trying to outdo one another improving both of us in the process.

That elitist bullshit never washed with me. You want MORE people to play not LESS.

For this reason I don't really mind Nintendo's approach to online play. I hate chat rooms for the same reason. Too many idiots.

WE ARE THE NATION...OF DOMINATION!

I think it's also classic when the kids think you cheat because you were able to kill them. I've copied many conversations from Counter-Strike and such of people who go crazy because I was able to shoot them through a wall.

I once had this one guy who started saying I was a stupid American, just because he wasn't doing well.

Haha, this is the funniest thing, everyone claims that Nintendo is the console for 10 year olds, yet in the same breath complain about how many 10 year olds are on PSN or XBL, seems to me they're the ones playing with the little kids ;)

But yeah I love XBL for having great servers, but hate it for them charging people and the little kids making the jokes you did in 5th grade, and fighting with them makes you look stupid so usually I just pound them at the game, or if they say something about my mom just say "yeah she is so what?" 99% of the time they have no come back.

I was playing Halo 3 with my friend/manager from work and this guy was on there bad mouthing him so he said an innuendo about the guys mom, trying to make a light hearted joke with the guy so maybe he would calm down, then the guy goes off and says "yeah you ******* retard my mom is in a wheelchair, and can't move" and my friend said "well thats good she doesnt have to move much.
