I prefer the 360 controller.

The PS3 one doesn't fit comfortably in my hands; it's too small and not ergonomic enough.

It's also quite a bit past it's prime by this point, being a PS1-era design.

What the hell does ergonomic mean?

On another note I understand if the controller doesn't suit your big hands, but I can't see sony changing the controller either, it feels to much as a sony staple, unless sony wants to unveil the boomerang controller from I think e3 '05.

@bolded: Ergonomics is the study of designing equipment and devices that fit the human body (googled it lol)

I don't think making improvements is ever a bad thing - If they can make it better, why not?

If they indeed can make it better I would love to see that happen as both controllers definitely have some subtle flaws, but I'm not going to lie I always wanted that boomerang ps3 controller from e3 '05 (correct me if I'm wrong)

I far prefer the 360 controller because of the following: Concave thumbsticks, a better thumbstick placement, REAL triggers, thumbsticks are usually tighter on the 360, and the shape of the 360 controller fits perfectly in my hand. The only thing that sucks about the 360 controller is the d-pad but even thats not a big deal cause its almost never used.

lol that thing looks mega uncomfortable!!

**But also looks mega cool

360 Triggers are far superior to PS3 trigger/shoulder buttons (so small and slippery). Even bought some 3rd party triggers for it. Better, but not perfect.
360 gamepad is much cheaper.
I prefer the concave sticks (again convex is too slippery) and the stick layout.
360 controllers are easy to use for PC games.

PS3 controller has sixaxis controls, but I haven't played a game yet, where they are actually fun and a proper D-Pad.

Overall 360 controller is far better for shooters and racers and PS3 controller probably for fighters (though I always use analog sticks, so I don't really care that the d-pad on 360 controllers sucks)

This is the same for me pretty much. I've always been adjusted to the PS controller (own a PS2), but the flat buttons and the triggers make it less appealing to me than the X360 controller.

Side note: Am i the ONLY one who loves the Xbox 360's D-Pad? I've always been TERRIBLE with my Playstation D-Pads. The gap in the middle of the D-Pad not only hurts my fingers, but it's harder for me to pull off half circles/rotations. The D-Pad on the 360 is all connected, so i use it exclusively for fighters.

360 controller for sure. They are pretty much the same, but the analogue sticks are way better on the 360 which is why it gets the vote.

Going off topic here, I just found out that I can post with my iPad now, happy day!

well as a gamer you'd say there both easy to adapt to. throw one to me and my hands will go where they need to be, although i did hate the R2 and L2 buttons on PS3 cause my fingers continued to slip off but that filling changed over time.

the 360 controlers L1 and R1 buttons are to small.

the controllers just suck as the buttons are to small for my hands and long fingers as is the nunchuk attachment.

over all i'd say PS2  has the best control and Wii has the worst

360 by a large margin I cannot stand the ps3 controller. For me, it is too small and uncomfortable. I was fine with the playstation controllers back when i was 5 playing on my PlayStation one, But now that my hands aren't tiny, the controller is just way to small and the analogs are way to close together for comfortable play. So far this year for consoles I've only bought Portal 2(for ps3 because of steamplay) and Vanquish(accidently ordered the ps3 version), so I have been nearly exclusively been playing on my ps3 so its not that I haven't gotten used to the controller. Its just that it is ridiculously uncomfortable for me. I cannot play for over an hour at a time or else my hands start hurting. I've been looking at third party controllers but all reviews for the ones that are similar to 360 controllers talk about the analogs having huge dead zones so I guess I'm waiting for someone to invite hand shrinking cream. But once I can finally find a comfortable controller I can get rid of my xbox. Until then all multiplatform games are pretty much xbox 360 exclusive to me =(.

have you tried third party controlers for PS3? i found one for the Wii which makes the Wii easyer to play.

I prefer the PS3 controller, I just like the way it feels in my hands better.

I think the X360 controller is super comfortable, second only to the awesome grips of the GameCube controller

I'd always heard about how its D-Pad sucked (long time ago), after trying it I absolutely agree! :(

DS is about the same, less comfortable grips but better D-Pad, the triggers are convex (curving outward, bulging out) which sucks and the analog stick is the same

360's shoulder triggers are convex (like GC controller) which I love and the analog stick are also convex which is great

So X360 > DualShock imo

The Gamecube may have had one of the weirder controllers and a silly layout, but damn that thing was pretty comfortable to hold.
