Forums - Sony - Killzone 3 multiplayer = yay/nay?

Well I saw someone on craigslist looking to trade Killzone 3 for Black Ops and I'm pretty tempted since I don't even play BO anymore.

I'm just wondering though - how's the multiplayer? Any good? I've read countless complaints by the more "hardcore" KZ2 fans with some changes they've made but is it really as bad as some say? I stopped playing KZ2 online after finally getting tired of how horribly spammy some matches get with the explosives. I've only played some of KZ3's beta. Have they made any big changes? Last thing I saw was increased health, which is good! Seems like one of the biggest complaints was that and the tweaks to the movement that made things feel more faster and "responsive", but I never minded the change.

I know most peeps will say KZ3 >>>>>> BO (just because it's CoD) but I have a friend that wants to buy BO for $30.....would trading it for KZ3 be worth it?

I'm probably not the best representative since I have not been able to play its multiplayer extensively. But from what I tried it is a YAY. I enjoy it, I do not mind the faster more responsive controls (barely ever played KZ2 multiplayer cause I didn't have the time back then). Do not expect it to be as fast as BO though.

If you enjoy class-based multiplayer games, then this will be solid. It's failry balanced from what I have seen, the maps are great for all styles of play, and it implements a reward system similar to COD which you are probably used to.

I wish I have the time to sink in more hours into it, but there is always the "next big thing" that hits the store shelves that takes my attention from the extras (multiplayer, side quests, trophies, alternate endings, etc) from the current game I played.

If you played the beta and enjoyed it, then the full version is just more of that. You can't go wrong. It also has a healthy comminuty that will stick around for a while.

never really played played BO's multiplayer but i spent countless hours on halo 3s and reachs multplayer and i prefer killzone over both halos mp

Killzone 3 multiplayer is a lot of fun. It starts off slow with nothing unlocked, but gets more fun as you go. StA3 LMG FTW! You just have to realize that its a totally different kind of game than Black Ops.

If you like Halo you will love Killzone 3. I think it's the best FPS game ever! BO is good but gets boring fast :(

Men....I was not to much into multiplayer and more if they were shooters...but I have to say that first K2 did it to me and K3 finish me, with full fatality....best multiplayer I have ever played, no questions, the best....I triyed COD, all of them to se what the hype was about, but I found them boring and toooo fast and complex menues and all....K3 is incridible, is the first time that I have a game witch I forgot about the offline campaing or history, as soon as I tried the multiplayer on full because the beta had me I was hook up, even my wife that is not a "tipical gamer" (she loves heavy rain, infamous, uncharted, bioshock, etc, no shooter), loves the game, she gets home and starts playing operations mode right away, its fun, balanced, great graphics (form me the best I have ever seen on a console), great modes, and so on....

P.S. excuse my english, not my mother language.

Definitely worth it IMO, black ops is to much of the nonsence of campers galore, glitchy gameplay, and of course repititiveness.

All the while, killzone has the amazing gameplay ( better physics) and much better graphics ( take a look at the black ops jungle and the killzone jungle)

I love the online play I just am so sick of shooters I quit playing the game early. I think the maps are better than KZ2 and seem bigger and brighter. I like how you get to pick ur class from the beggining and not have to level up to be more than a medic. Plus, the leveling system is better in general especially for pistols. None of that pistols only bullshit games to get the final pistol. Also the aiming seems better with a lot less shooting from the hip than the last game.

Overall, I would always take Black ops over Killzone 3, but KZ feelss unique with its classes and I feel it is the funnest game for non deathmatch play. If your sick of Black OPS KZ3 is a great change of pace.

It's getting pretty tempting.

I got abit bored of BO after about a month'ish. It's too much like the other CoD's. Random friends that've come over my house to play have probably put more hours into the game than I have. At this point, I find it a little more entertaining to watch my friends play rather than play the game myself!

Since I don't plan on buying Infamous 2 anytime soon (demo was a little disappointing r_r )  I just might go with KZ3. I'm selling BO either way.

One of my biggest gripes about KZ2 overall was just how much of a clusterf*** it was, unless you disabled the Tactician, Assault, and then lowered the amount of players per match (KZ2 was definitely not made for 16v16). I also was never really a fan of most the maps it had. From what I played  based on KZ3's beta, I didn't really have too many complaints. I doubt i'll get super into it's multiplayer but I know I'll occasionally enjoy some bot matches here n there.

I'm mostly buying it just because I lack shooters/fps that I really like =/   I was always an fps guy when I used to game on pc (quit that ages ago) but there's just so much crap for the genre when it comes to consoles. I don't think i'll ever find a game that had me hooked like BC2 did but, KZ3 was at least a little fun and it'll only be about $30'ish on Amazon.

I'm also wondering......have they changed Search and Destroy at all? GG's version of SnD was just horribly retarded. Both bombs being next to eachother along with so many other obvious flaws KZ2 had makes me wonder if GG bothers to properly test their games : /

It blows, badly.  Most maps are unbalanced, as are classes, as are weapons.  Nearly all the great features from KZ2 have been removed.

Are the weapons still unbalanced? One really obvious flaw I noticed in the beta was that they decreased player health massively, yet they left all the guns with huge clips untouched.
