Android has a ton of apps o_O;;;; where did you even get the idea that WP7 has the same type and amount as Android? Are you talking about games or actual apps?

How many apps does Android have? Windows Phone just hit 20,000 apps. Window Phone 7 has only been around for 8 months. I'm pretty sure, out of those 20,000 apps, there is a type for whatever app you are looking for. Plus, most of the useful features are already built into the OS and don't need an app to do. Mango will make even more apps irrelevant.

20,000 you say?  Nothing will beat the epic <100 apps that were released for the Zune HD   Good thing I don't use it for that anyways.

Say what you want about Zune HD apps. They were all free and quality apps.  I didn't use it for apps though. Waste of battery. Tegra was a battery hog on games, but played music for hours on end. The apps never took off cuz M$ didn't know how they were going to handle 2 marketplaces (zune, windows phone) knowing that windows phone and Kin will have zune also.

I think Zune HD was a causuality of Kin. Kin's failure lead  to M$ trying to restructure everything. They had their hands in too many places and eventually would have been competing with itself (Kin vs Windows Phone, Zune vs Windows Phone). Kin and Zune HD could have lived together happily, because Kin was just a phone that could play music. Zune HD played movies and had apps. Windows Phone and Zune HD is a different story, because Windows Phone is Zune HD(plus)

Zune HD is the best MP3 player I've had.  I still use it along with my my windows phone at work. I prefer a seperate player from a phone.Easier to browse porn that way..

Hopefully M$ figures out what they want to be soon and how Zune will live on (Software/Hardware)

sure, I like access to my phone, i like to able to customize it, change it around once in awile, I am currently using the launcher 7 on my eveo 3d plus the zune music app mod. It's basicly windows phone 7  on android. Next week, maybe something else. And, My phone can do everything, why should I cut its time short.

I made a post earlier in this thread (http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4076943) which sumarizes why Android is better for a user like you and WP7 for a user like me.

btw Apple has 500k apps, even the Ipad has more at 70,000 apps.

So pace or not, you want apps either apple or Android is your best choice.

That's not the focus on the Windows Phone OS. The main focus is functionaity right in front of you when you turn on your phone. It's get in and get out. Less phone time, more time for everything else. They are building the OS to give you those everyday functions without having to go through apps. So yeah, you'll need more apps to make up for what the OS lacks..

Who's forcing you to buy a Windows Phone? o_O ...You like Android, keep it. I have a Windows Mobile phone too and I use that to do what I want, just like your Android, just swap SIMS. I can download whatever files I want. Install ANY software I want, with no Marketplace in the way. I can sideload anything I want. Android is what the old Windows Mobile was. Windows Mobile was much more open though. M$ was also too lenient on the harware manufactures and their phones were slow as fuck.

the phones werent slow, the software was crappy. As for android, they need to work on the battery life, the look as well, thus why i get HTC versions. They need a better music and video player. But besides that, they have the best os for smartphones for heavy users.

Btw, i think WebOS is the best smartphone OS period. No one can match their multitasking.

Trust me, I've been nothing but happy about my purchase of a zune hd over a year ago now as well.  I also agree that the games that are out are quality games.  It is just slightly upsetting that there are SO few.  I'm not saying they need 1000's to any degree whatsoever (especially considering they are free), but SOME more would be nice for the rare occasion where I do actually play a game on it.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

HTC was the only company that made Windows Mobile phones in the US, that I know of. HTC's overlaying software was what made the phones slower than they needed to be, that along with carrier bullshit software. M$  wanted all that to go away. They were ruining the way the OS operated and I guess ruined the image of the Windows Mobile brand. You had 2 or even 3 layers of software running ontop of eachother. Lots of people started hacking the phones to remove all that crap and making custom roms to get the phones down to the basic software. Android is faring better, because there is way better hardware on phones now then Windows Mobile ever did. Google came out at just the right time with Android.

I am disappointed that they stripped lots of functionality from Windows Phones  compared to Widowns Mobile. What I love the most out of Windows Phone 7, no more overlaying software, just what I need in front of me. That is the best trade-off. Mango is also brining lots of that stuff back and more.

I do agree that iOS and WP out the box may run quicker on similar hardware, however, I also think that the majority of users on this site are techie and would be inclined to remove the rubbish installed by carriers to make the Android experience far better. Additionally, the Nexus phones (plain android) will always beat iOS and WP in the same tests with even lesser hardware. Its not Android, is the manufacturers and carriers. This will undoubtly change as Google is adding more restrictions.

You can't put out a product and expect people to clean it up themselves though, regardless of who is responsible for that. I know there are techies who will do this and who will do extensive customization, and Android is a great system for them. But for those who want a system that is great out of the box, with very stable and fluid performance, a WP7 device is the exact thing they're looking for. And by far the greatest part of consumers don't want to tinker with their phones like that, which is what makes WP7 perfect for mass consumption.

And even as a techie, I don't want a device that I have to work on. I want a device that works great out of the box, with a great user experience, and for me, that's Windows Phone 7 right now. The reason I haven't bought a smartphone yet is because both Android and iOS feel to me like they're trying to be a small computer, instead of trying to be a phone. Microsoft understands this, and WP7 brings the right interface to the right platforms with the right standards because of it.

That's my two cents anyway.

I forgot to mention the 1 thing that really grinds my gears about WP7: All the fucking apps from Smarter Agent clogging up the store!

To be fair, until you get the mango update, you have a phone without multitasking which is why it feels so fast. I tried the HD7, loved the Zune integration, loved the Live part, but everything else felt barebone. i couldnt play anything in the background, i coulndt customize anything, that fake HTC sense was a mess.

That`s funny because I have used both the HTC Surround and HTC Trophy WP7 devices and been able to listen to my music off of the Zune app while pulling up other items without any hitches, checking emails and surfing web while talking on speaker phone never effected speed or call clarity either. Seems like WP& can multi-task just fine IMO.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

Some of the native apps can multitask, but it doesn't work for third party apps. The multitasking psrock is referring to is this one:
