Took long enough. I think it's been pretty obvious since the WC bidding.
Well even before then... but that's when i first paid enough attention to notice.

The fact that they gave the world cup to a country who's bid was absolutely awful, and who doesn't even have the stadiums to support the game without doing a massive building spree (which judging by the other construction in that country will be dangerously poorly built) kinda gave it away.

Well this whole affair is a bit of a joke, isn't it.
An election is to be held with only 1 candidate. That's not an election.
Hmm, pie.

I don't quite get this fairness factor. Do you mean that Russia and Qatar should have a natural advantage in the decision making, because they have never hosted the World Cup before? |
Besides, obviously in that situation Russia, an expanding market, makes more sense than Qatar, a non-existent market. The bribe was painfully obvious. Anyway, I still wish it had gone to the US, also an expanding market. :-/

i heard the cleaning woman can't be bought
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

They really need to sort out the politics of Football, they are the most corrupt sporting association.

Well that's because it's the biggest and least regulated.
Fifa is more like an international government then a company... because it has stuff the entire world wants.
Stuff like basketball, baseball, even cricket are smaller type things people could live without.
The Olympics... probably corrupt as well, but not as many people care.

Also Olympics got somewhat sorted out after a similar scandal about a decade back. Unlike FIFA they actually tried to deal with the problem rather than pretend it didn't exist.
