I would say Call of Duty4 has far better graphics than Gears. But I am not very impressed by the Unreal Engine shaders anyway. They have the Doom3 shiny-disease.


 I suppose so, I just personally don't think COD4's graphics are all that good :/ honestly I think the framerate helps it more than anything. I'm also pretty big on sci-fi themed shooters so my bias is probably blinding me.
