Alright, I have an an AMD Athlon 7850(tm) Dual Core Processor, 2.81 GHz, 3.25 GB Ram, Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3 and an ATI Radeon 3100 graphics. My question of course is whether or not Oblivion would run on this computer and if it did how well?

I want to buy Oblivion off Steam but I don't know if I should since I may not be able to play it. Any suggestions would be pleasantly welcome, and I thank you in advance.

I think it should run. (Probably on a lower setting.)

It's not really outdated, laptops usually come with integrated Graphics cards which aren't made gaming in mind. That card  you have is from 2008, the minimum required are years older. :)

They are talking about Radeon 9500, not Radeon HD 9500, which doesn't exist yet, and won't for a bit. Also, I am assuming your card is an HD 3100, in which case you should be able to run the game, you do meet the minimum requirements. I would try to find a demo or something first to make sure you are fine playing at the lowish end of the graphics.

Also before you say anything, video card naming schemes fucking suck dick, I know.

Edit: Here is a quick run down on the ATI naming. It started off adn then it got to 9800 fro like 7000s. Then they started at the 100s again but with an X, so you'd have like an X300. Then when they got towards the end of  the X1000s, they just put an HD in front and kept going from the 2000s and up as Radeon HD 2xxx. Now the latest one they came out with is the HD69xx, and I am genuinely curious what they will do now that they have made a full circle back to the 7000s from way early on.
