Forums - Sony - Sony's reward program is too generous

I see have any kind of discussion with haters is impossible.

Huge pile of text for nothing :/
First of all, you don't go around baselessly calling people haters
kungkras did not "basically" call anyone anything, especially not a fanboy

Anyways, it says it all in the title. The OP clearly had the company's best intrest in mind here (instead of his own), which is messed up no matter how you spin it. Come back when you can clearly prove otherwise

A company can never be to generous. This is a good deal to me,as I don't be alot of PSN games,so I'll be getting dead nation and stardust.

Normal response one would expect from a customer

completely omitting the biggest part of the OP.

Will this move cause a loss of sales for games?

I'm sorry if I called you a hater, but I can't se the logic in omitting a key part of the OP without having an agenda. Simple as that.

And what was your reaction to his post? A condescending tone in your reply. If you consider KungKras's post to be flaming, then you are guilty of the same. Do you want to click the report button on your post yourself or do you allow me to take that honor?

Then what's the verdict on kung? Willfull misinterpretation, or lack of reading comprehension?

OP clearly states the offer may cause a loss of sales, citing his own anecdotal evidence, and asking for the opinions of others. Whether he is a customer or not, this is a valid question, that should be given a serious answer.

What's wrong with condescension? You're quite adept at it yourself, Rol. Don't think you can push me into getting upset like you used to be able to.

I was commenting about the OP as a whole, but ok

@bolded: They are giving away free games. A lot of people (like the OP) might have their gaming needs fulfilled by this to the degree that they won't feel the need to buy games for a long time

But I think it'll do a pretty good job of promoting PSN as well as doing good for the sequels to the free games. Aslo, they are pretty old games, I think if someone wanted them, they'd have gotten them by now, so giving the free games away won't have hurt those games' sales

the OP as a whole IS this question. There is none other. His following posts are of the exact same stripe. "I didn't want THESE games, but it will prevent me from buying Modnation racers now, just looking to see if anyone had similar experiences"

But thank you. I agree that the games are old. I don't think they're giving enough, myself. There should've been at least one newish game in there, or at least some kind of rebate on buying a new game, etc. I also think their other offers fall short. DCU one month, and PSN plus are hardly compensatory. THese are more likely free advertising for the new games and PSN plus.

I was thinking the exact same thing. A little too generous considering none of us actually lost anything, if you can prove you did I'd like to see the proof. A FREE service went down for about 3 weeks and we all lived through it. People have such a feeling of entitlment it is ridiculous. I was just fine while the PSN was down. Still able to watch Netflix (if you had half a brain and were able to figure out how to watch, that is), still able to play ALL of my games, still able to get trophies, still had an enjoyable time. Did I miss the free service that was offered? Sure I did. Did I know it would be back very soon? Of course I did. So I had some patience and lived my life as I would any other day. The PSN being up or down doesn't dictate my life, nor how I live it. If it does, you probably need to get your priorities straight.

Long story short, when I saw the compensation I would be getting for the aforementioned FREE service having been down a few weeks, I was very shocked and surprised. My fiance will love owning Little Big Planet, as we had it before for about 3 weeks from GameFly and we both absolutely loved it. I played and beat InFamous through GameFly as well, but again, I will have no problem going back and playing again, getting some missed trophies, ect ect. Not to mention a free month of PS Plus. Free movie rentals? All of this is being offered to me, for FREE, when all I had to do is wait patiently while Sony's FREE service was being reworked to be brought back online. I really don't feel like anyone is entitled to anything like this. But the fact that Sony is offering it, well kudos to them. I am thankful and I would hope everyone else is thankful as well.

You're welcome! :) - - - It may be more boring to some, but it's nice to have a friendly and civilized discussion with others here

@bolded: Interesting :p

The verdict is that you are making a mountain out of a molehill (or whatever the saying is in English). Besides, is it an invalid opinion to think that a customer shouldn't worry about this? Furthermore, if you are going to take issue with everyone who doesn't give a serious answer to a thread, then you will drive yourself (and others) mad within a couple of hours at most.

I'll repeat my first line: This here isn't worth a fight.

It is an Off-topic opinion at best.

I just don't like how he's inferring that OP is (how shall I say it in a way that can't be misinterpreted) putting Sony ahead of himself, ie; a sheep, blindly selfless, a slave

Not nothing, personal information, CC info...etc

As for the proof, Sony themselves said it was compromised
