Forums - Microsoft - EA ripping us off one more time

He's right, it is a rip off.

And: No comic can compensate the loss off the atmosphere of the great Mass Effect

Not everyone has the patience and from what I hear the comic still gives you the power to make major vital choices from the original game. Its an interactive comic and some people will see value in this. Just because you do not does not make it a rip off. I would say go play the original as well but some people aren`t going to want to do that for whatever reason and that is their choice.

This thread is so full of ignorance damn!

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

If you don't have the patience to play the amazing first game, how would you have the patience to beat the second one?

Why should 360 and PC owners get Mass Effect 1 while us PS3 owners have to settle with a comic? Think about that one...

Besides, it's cheaper to buy a $4 comic than to go out and buy a retail copy of Mass Effect 1, so the people who haven't played it yet can easily do that to be brought up to speed before playing Mass Effect 2

Seriously, people like you really bug me y'know... go cry to EA and not to people who don't care, oh wait, people at EA won't care either

this

wouldn't matter to me as i wouldn't buy it  when i could just play ME1. why would i want it if i already bought it anyway? does it add anything to the story? no! waste of money for those who buy.

I meant to say time.

Microsoft would charge you five dollars to breathe and Sony would charge three bucks. In my experience with downloadable content it certainly is that way. I think this is something worth knowing.

Like Bristow said, it's a cheap way to get new ME players up to date.

It being free would be an even cheaper way.

buy a PS3 if you want it for free !

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

I dunno how many of you are aware, but this week EA and BioWare released the formerly PS3 exclusive interactive comic for Mass Effect 2 that allows you to make Mass Effect 1 decisions without even playing the game. Of course, did we get this in a free update? Of course not! It's up on the marketplace right now for 320 Microsoft Points ($4)! Are you guys freaking kidding me? 4 bucks for a little thing at the beginning of the game that I'll only use if I don't wanna play Mass Effect 1 again? Sounds like a deal to me!

Of course, I'll bet someone will come into this thread and tell me "if you don't want it, you don't have to buy it!" That's great, but it's a ripoff even if I did want it. Why should we pay for something that others got for free? Am I the only one grossly offended by this? I'd rather buy horse armor than waste my money on this!

You got to love developers taking advantage of the little things for a cash in flow, it just seems inevitable now days.

Wait, I'm supposed to feel bad for you when you've had more than 3 years to buy a platform with this game on it? Forget all the other stuff you said which sounds like garbage I'd hear from EA's PR department, telling me to get over this while you can't get over Mass Effect 1 not being on the PS3 is a barrel of laughs.

This is the dumbest argument I've ever heard.

EA and Bioware may make games but they're out to make money.  It's as simple as if you don't think it's worth the money, don't buy it.  I know you don't like that answer but that's tough.

And hey, I guess if you really want it for free go buy the PS3 version.  See, I can use your stupid argument too.

Are you kidding me??!?!?! You're complaining about this!?!?!? First off I bought ME2 day 1 and I payed $65.30 US. So no, you have no right to complain. You have the game and can get it for cheap. The comic can be seen as something for those who do not feel the need to experience the entire ME1 be it time contraints or other factors, so no, $4 is not a bad price to pay for roughly 15 min of entertainment (ever bought comic books in your life like I have? I have Maximum Carnage around here somewhere, best comic btw). It kills 2 birds with 1 stone, giving you some background story and altering certain things in ME2. Otherwise you can just go to wiki if you do not feel the need to alter anything, so in the end NO, you do not have the right to complain yet I DO for being charged full price over a year later but I still enjoyed the game.

Here's a good response for you. All systems have a huge backlog of games and people have a limited amount of time to play through as many great games as possible. I would love to play ME1 but I still want to play 3D dot game heroes, Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, Bioshock 2, more GT5, etc Therefore, those people who heard great things about ME as a series may want to pick up from the latest entry while still having a background on ME1 the easier way. Besides, in 40 min you can have 3 different combinations of choices affect your ME2 gameplay vs  countless hours needed on ME1. I consider myself a hardcore gamer and even I don't have all the time in the world for my gaming needs (have played since commodore 64 and atari days on every system to present day, yes even the jaguar).
