I don't think that it's a big deal if you use imperial in daily life...heck, I'm Canadian and I use it all the time (buying fruit, measuring my mass, etc.) but in scientific disciplines, the metric (or SI, if you will) system of units should be used (and, as far as I know, it is the current standard).

Changing to metric isn't a waste of money. It would actually increase productivity because working with decimal based units is much quicker. Also everybody using the same unit would avoid mishaps like the Mars Climate Orbiter.

Whewn yah get a edjumacation in AMERICA you learn how gret the metric system is. Most Americans are just to lazy tocompleatly convert. Personally, I think it would benefit the entire population to go metric. It's the in thing you know.

Yeah, but those scientists constantly work with the metric system it wasn't because they were not used to working with it . It was because of simple human error.
