In the United Kingdom we are never fully metric or imperial.

Cause Americans then wouldn't know what a Quarter Pounder is anymore... Quarter Pounder >>> Metric system

Just don't go to war with some Asian country for a month or so, that should do the trick.

But we're Am'rica, we need our patriatism.  There aint no patriatism in repaintin' signs!

Paint them red, white and blue.

I don't think that it's a big deal if you use imperial in daily life...heck, I'm Canadian and I use it all the time (buying fruit, measuring my mass, etc.) but in scientific disciplines, the metric (or SI, if you will) system of units should be used (and, as far as I know, it is the current standard).

Changing to metric isn't a waste of money. It would actually increase productivity because working with decimal based units is much quicker. Also everybody using the same unit would avoid mishaps like the Mars Climate Orbiter.

One engineer used miles, the other kilometers. Nobody checked. It crashed.

Whewn yah get a edjumacation in AMERICA you learn how gret the metric system is. Most Americans are just to lazy tocompleatly convert.   Personally, I think it would benefit the entire population to go metric. It's the in thing you know.

Yeah, but those scientists constantly work with the metric system it wasn't because they were not used to working with it . It was because of simple human error.

The cost would be insane because nearly every road sign would have to be converted.

Well, you should've though of that before buying those signs in the first place, no? Ah, you Americans never think of the future!

Psh, they should change to American, it's obvious the best or why else would we use it?

Because you think it's called "American"?

We use it, it's called American.

What's the language you speak called?

Am'rcan!
