well your question didnt make much sense.  you originally asked why someone might choose to be discriminated against.  you then make assumptions of our answer and ask a question based on that.

The fun is at least as far as the Old Testament goes, homosexuality could have been considered evil either because it involved certain mixing that the Jews considered unholy (similar to how they consider lobster unholy as they are a mixture of the landbound and the sea creatures), and the mixing was the specific mechanisms of sodomy, or the fact that in Jewish society at the time adult Men were presupposed to be married, and thus if they were having sex with Men that meant both parties were committing adultery, which would be socially destructive (breeding resentment and hate between the two family groups wronged by the two gay adulterers)

The foundational religious prohibitions on sexuality are, like many fundamentalist rules of religions, automatically out of context in our society.
