Do you want to see classic control's replace motion controls?

Yes, I prefer GameCube controls 38 26.57%

No, the Wiimote is amazing 28 19.58%

Both I want something like Brawl 57 39.86%

Entirely new controls 20 13.99%

Total:143

The wii's controls when used intelligently really add to a game.   However, I admit not all genre's benefit from motion.   Although I play SSBB with the wiimote/nunchuk all the time, I don't use motion in it.   However, I can't go back to analog for MarioKart, the wheel is just more fun.   Nor can I use dual analog for FPS and sandbox games without IR and motion now seem clumsy, boring and prehistoric to me.

I suspect Cafe's controller will be some sort of hybrid with a mix of motion, touch and more classic elements.   Although they might opt to instead let people use or buy a WM controller for Wii / Cafe-motion games, like you could use a GC controller on Wii.  But that to me would be a step backwards and make no sense at all.

I always thought that the wii mote had both? I'd pick both, anyways.

Wow according to the poll exactly the same amount of people want Motion controls to completely replace classic as do classic controls replace motion. I'm actually suprised that many people chose they wanted to replace each others control schemes then simply have both availible. Its pretty interesting to see what our fellow VGChartz members want to see control wise.

Or maybe there are just several silly people like me who vote before reading all the options...

On another note, I've been a little away from console gaming for a while, now I come here and read all kinds of rumours about the next Nintendo console going back to standard gamepad controls... this is very strange.

Please just get rid of them. The benifits don't outway the consequences. I don't want to have to buy 2 sets of each. Just keep one and stick to it. In this case, Normal Controls are just better across all the genres. So stick with that. Or go with the Six Axis scheme, both in one.

I disagree that normal controls are better across all genres. For FPSs and racing games (at least some racing games) the motion control is much better, in fact I'd be hard pressed to buy a console FPS or Mario Kart if they didn't have motion controls.

Ok, thats 2 genres..... I think Wii owners just have to face it, not alot of wii games actually use the motion control. Mario galaxy sure didnt need it, brawl didnt need it. Fire emblem doesn't need it. There are only 3 genres it works well on. Sports, racing, and shooters. But i am pretty sure there are way more than just 3 genres. I mean't all genres in total. The rest just feel tacked on.

What if there was a scenario where the console you buy comes with a classic style controller and a motion controller in the box as standard?

But not in the Six Axis way, because that's just.... not very good.
