The wii's controls when used intelligently really add to a game.   However, I admit not all genre's benefit from motion.   Although I play SSBB with the wiimote/nunchuk all the time, I don't use motion in it.   However, I can't go back to analog for MarioKart, the wheel is just more fun.   Nor can I use dual analog for FPS and sandbox games without IR and motion now seem clumsy, boring and prehistoric to me.

I suspect Cafe's controller will be some sort of hybrid with a mix of motion, touch and more classic elements.   Although they might opt to instead let people use or buy a WM controller for Wii / Cafe-motion games, like you could use a GC controller on Wii.  But that to me would be a step backwards and make no sense at all.
