BTW I'm not getting infamous 2 now for this!

You wont need too! It will get you!!!

I just really couldn't get into the game.  The difficulty didn't bother me a lot but I tried a few times and I just never really got anywhere.  The game could have really helped from *some* hand holding in the beginning to at least tell you what you're doing.  All I know is I went to some random castle after becoming a soul and then died a lot.  I didn't quit this game multiple times out of frustration, I quit because of boredom and had no sense what I was really doing.

The game is not very hard people. It is very hard if you don't follow the game, and it will always be hard at the beginning. But later on when you get used to the game, you end up being very careful, and try to take out the boss without dying even once. You automatically start making preparations for your boss battle, and if you play three player co-op this is one of the easier games to play.

The game is definitely harder than most other games and trying to deny this is foolish. However I felt DA Origins was a little more difficult on nightmare in some regions, but not all. Overall Demon's Souls is harder, but its probably not the hardest retail game this gen, and it doesn't have to be.

facing the maneater is hard even on the 5th playthrough. Even if you think its not that difficult, its still one of the most difficult games to beat this gen.

That's not saying much. There haven't been that many "hard games" this gen. Even NG II was easy...

He's review shouldn't count.

Any valid reason?

Yeah you sure sound like a DS expert all right. Not.

What about the red-eye-knight!? Are you telling me that you killed him first time? And what about the dragons? Did you go visit them?

yes, I'm sorry I can't remember the names of everyone in a game I haven't played in over 6 months... If the red eye knight is who I think he is, then yes, I beat him the first time.

The dragon wasn't a problem on 1-1. He got me once or twice on 1-2 though

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

i pretty much agree with the following review:

so i give it a 10/10

theres minor problems like rare frame rate drops but theres something wrong with every game. Im not a huge rpg fan and tbh i usually suck at them but despite that if im still playing demons souls, considered one of the most challenging, then it says a lot about how good the game is.

love the black phantom edition and i will be pre-ordering limited ed dark souls nearer to release.

The Good:

  • Great boss battles - The boss battles in Demon's Souls were fun for the most part. The scale was amazing for some bosses, and they required a bit of strategy to defeat them. Demon Souls gets an A from me in boss fights.
  • World 1 & 3 - These two worlds are my favorite from the game. The atmosphere is great, level designs are fantastic, great little touches that adds to atmosphere, etc. World 4 is good too, but it's nowhere near as great as the two I mentioned.
  • Tendency System - I thought this was great since it adds to the game's atmosphere. Actions you take affect's the world's tendency balance. Making the world tilt toward dark tendency makes enemies stronger and your weapons weaker. It's a nice touch.
  • Great online implementation - I love that you can see how other players died, and most of them are pretty hilarious (falling out of stupidity :P). Also, enjoyed that players can leave messages/warnings and summon people to help you fight a boss. However, there were times when I wanted to avoid the online stuff.
  • Made a profit - I was able to sell one of my Deluxe Edition copy for $130.

Indifferent:

  • Gameplay - The gameplay was alright, imo, but it did feel a little clunky and slow. Also, you easily beat a few bosses and those 'tough' enemies by spamming with your magic.

The Bad:

  • World 2 & 5: Personally, I found those two worlds boring, especially 2. 2-2 was one of the crappiest levels ever; all you do is fall down. The level designs weren't that great for those two worlds.
  • Lack of direction: There were times when I asked myself, "why am I going into these worlds?" "What's my motivation? Why am I doing this?" I got bored of the game because the game lacked focus and two of the five worlds bored me.
  • Framerate: I encountered a few framerate problems, and it was pretty annoying when I got them. I usually encountered this issue when I was fighting a group of enemies or running away.
  • A little too predictable: For the most part of the game, I took it slow. I didn't rush through the game leaving myself open to ambush attacks. I would walk into every room very slowly with the shield up, because I KNEW there might be an enemy waiting ambush me. It's pretty hilarious how many times there was an enemy hiding in the corner, just waiting to blindside me. But they didn't fool me. It got a little annoying how many times this happened. It's cheap.
  • No option to avoid online elements: While I like the online components, I would have liked an option to turn off those elements because it would distract me at certain occasions like someone invading my world. Not only most I worry about the enemies in the world, but I also have to check my back for that player. I didn't feel comfortable progressing through a level.
  • No convinient way to communicate with partners - Pretty self-explanatory. I couldn't really tell my partner what to do, so he had to do things his way while I did it my way.

Score: 7.0

yo yojohn, are you going to do DS and PSP games too?

9.8

What I liked:

-Everything

What I didn't like:

- I'll try to think of something.

Easily one of my favorite games this gen.

Your motivation is pretty obvious from that blue guy hanging around the nexus, you are trapped there, all you can do is go to the worlds that or sit in the nexus with him, the monumental set it up so you couldn't escape you had to go to the worlds, and if you just sit in the nexus you will eventually lose yourself like he did
