True as we have seen even the most succesfull predecessor won't save you from reaching wonderswan levels without games ;)

It's no surprise that PSP momentum has been strong the past few months. The 3DS is very expensive, there isn't much compelling software yet and there is controversy surrounding the 3D thing while the PSP is much more affordable and has a strong, lengthy library. I don't see how a bunch of old N64 and PS2 remakes and Mario Kart (yeah Mario Kart certainly made the N64 and Gamecube a huge hit in Japan...) are going to change that.
Wii seems to be having a bit of a resurgance in JP in terms of SW and HW. Sure, it's the holidays, but it'll be inteesting to see if it lasts...
Nice 3DS sales - they should stabilize above 20k now since it finally starts getting software pretty much every week until E3. If the PSP isn't suffering from shortages now and starts falling a bit, I could see the 3DS stealing a week or two from it here and there.
