Gotcha

A pretty good week for Nintendo, all their systems (except DS Lite) are up, while all other systems all experience small to decent sized drops from the holidays already. Also quite a few older Wii titles were back in the top 20 this week.

Still very good PSP numbers. I think the PS3 is looking like it is dropping a bit (not that is in danger of falling behind the other home consoles), but a few weeks ago it seemed like 25k was its baseline, and now it is doing 21k during a partial holiday week. I'm sure when the Yakuza game comes out it will get a boost.

I'm really excited about seeing how the next batch of 3DS titles do when they start releasing in a couple of weeks.

i cant understand why psp is doing so well, i can predict NGP will be a tremendous success

Even though it is a handheld and not a console, I'm of the mindset that the 3DS releasing actually is the cause of slightly lower PS3 sales.  If you think about it, if you have people that are thinking of buying a system (handheld or console), they likely don't have enough spare money to just throw towards both systems, so some sales that may have went towards the PS3 are instead going towards the 3DS.

Probably well, according to COMGnet (which is not a very Nintendo-friendly site usually) One Piece and Tales of the abyss both are going to open higher than 50k, maybe over 100k. Zelda is increasing too. 300k software sales just for the opening weeks of these games should give a decent push in May-June, and there's a RE too, so 3DS should start selling over 30k for the next month I think. Or at least don't drop at less than 20k, just in line with DS' performance.

You know when the NGP was first announced and Famitsu did surveys on the readers whether they wanted the NGP or not and when I saw big favor towards the NGP, I was slightly confused since I thought that the Japanese would definitely show stronger towards the 3DS. Not saying you can't have both systems but I was under the impression that the PSP was going to slowly die off and a bit worried about the NGP in Japan but after looking at recent sales, I believe that the NGP will see great sales in Japan.

I cannot wait to see more about the NGP!

I think it will be only by the end of TGS that we will have a full understanding of support NGP will get and I bet it's gonna be glorious. Tho I think when it comes out, it won't do as well as the psp cuz of the possible price but it will stick around and do real great like the psp did. and to think, we had so many comments saying psp is only alive in japan and even that will be over once 3ds comes out :P

I wouldn't be so enthusiastic regarding NGP (sales wise), other consoles have taught us a lesson. While I think it will do at least well in Japan, I would even say very well I can see it struggling really hard in the West.

Almost 900k for DKCR now. Not bad for a western title!
