Forums - Sony - Latest Sony Update 05/10/2011: A few more days

A few more days? Who said that?

Around the Network

Sigh sucks that they are taking so long but the reality is they really don't know when it's going to be back, they are going ot make it as secure as possible and they already rebuilt the entire network, when looked at from a different prespective it's quite amazing how much they did in a short time, but yeah I look at it as I want psn up already, I uploaded a LBP level right before it went out and I want to update it and see if I got any feedback

honesty i haven't missed it, steam has kepted me busy

still waiting for psn to go back up even for an hour so I can link my ps3 copy of portal 2 to steam... After that it can go down for a year for all I care. Though hopefully it stays online for those who like playing their ps3 games online =).

A few more days is better then "By the end of the Month" which was the last deadline.

This looks so fake...trolling?

Are sony fans trolling themselves now?

Its legit. The pic may be fake

We've got an update....

"The PSN is still down and we don't have a time frame for you as to when it will be back up."

......THAT IS NOT A FUCKING UPDATE!

Most of Sony's "updates" are as follows.

"Um....still down, but you already fucking knew that"

I saw the following from an established poster at a forum which has nothing to do with games (so little reason to believe it's a troll):

Hubby is a lead/senior software engineer for a game company and is in charge of online implemetation for multiplayer, online stores, etc.

This is a MAJOR issue as Sony is requiring all companies making games for the PS3 to "recertify" their code which connects to their server network. Problem is that they haven't quite yet worked out all the major specs. And, once that's done, everyone has to get in line to make sure their code works with the new Sony configurations - nice backlog there which will push out the release dates for some titles (or online features will have to be added as a update / patch). The real clusterfuck is that to make Christmas release, games should be well through testing in August. With the uncertainty and now with everyone having to recertify their code at once, this will have a major impact on Christmas game releases for anyone putting out something for PS.

yikes...

if true... it shows why you DEFINITLY don't want to half ass it on your networks as a videogame provider.

Seems like a pain.

Doesn't sound genuine from where I'm standing, sounds very vauge and one step up from "my dad works for sony".
