Forums - Sony - I just kinda ruined Demon's Souls for myself : (

King Allant wasn't that hard, if you had a mobile character. His only really damaging attack (apart from the charge up, AoE attack) is his sword combo, which can be easily dodged. If you attack him only after he's pulled out all attacks in the combo, you can defeat him without much trouble.

It may be a slow process, but it's the best one (for me).

I had no idea that type of duping was possible on Demon's Souls. Then again, I never try any kind of duping in any game. That's why getting items like the Pure Bladestone on Demon's Souls, a Zod rune on Diablo II and many other very rare items in any other game is such a "Fuck Yeah!" moment.

I was taken ages to decide on fighting King Allant on 1-4  (last boss for me) since I was debating if I wanted to delevel myself now, or wait till after I beat him (to fix up my stats abit). Obviously couldn't do it either way untill PSN was back up so I was just doing random stuff and looking up info on builds.....while eagerly waiting for online play to start working.

So I was on youtube looking at random PvP vids till one video caught my attention. I already knew glitches/duping existed in DS but I liked how they often involved some awkward process that required being online and sometimes having a partner - with all that hassle involved, I wasn't motivated to bother trying any of that. Anyways, I noticed the title of a video that happened to pop up....it was for a glitch.....but not just any glitch....

I watched it and after seeing what it could do, I was thinking about trying it but thought, "naaaah, I'm on the most recent version of the game, a glitch like this would be patched by now!"

So I tried it out, and I was wrong.......it took literally about 2 mins to do, then bam.....it worked. I'm guessing pretty much most peeps here have already played the game/moved on/etcetc so not much point in trying to hide anything:  Not including weps/armor, you can literally dupe anything within a minute. All those ridiculously rare stones/etcetc.....yup, infinite supply within seconds.

Honestly, I know I'm not being forced to dupe items but..... =(

It's so easy to do.....I can't help but feel that all the effort I put into the game up to this point was....eh! It almost feels kinda like why I quit Fallout 3 after a short time - permanent decisions in the game never felt so permanent since you could just easily save/load if you manage to screw up horribly. I was saving up some rare stuff (boss souls/etc) on DS in storage for a while since I couldn't decide what to use them on, and I knew I wouldn't be able to get them again till my next playthrough, which was pretty cool!.......but now that magic has kinda died down a little =/

Really wish this didn't exist. I already gave into temptation and upgraded my fav weps to Dragon 5 just to uh....sample the damage >_>

I actually wrote down the original amount of stones I had and plan on degrading my weps back to how I had them before, along with trashing all the duped stones........or will I keep them instead?!

WHAT HAVE I DONE, I CAN'T UNSEE WHAT I SAW =(

This is why I never cheat in games, it ruins everything. Except for GTA 3,VC and SA, those are no fun without them. :P

But once I've cheated in a game, I can't undo it, even though i can just reload my old save, the damage has been done, once i know I can cheat easily its over for me. Except if i discovered the glitch myself, then i think its cool. :P Except if its too overpowered and game breaking. Monster hunter trade items to a friends and then reload is a trick i can live with, a small thing in a pretty hard game.

I can't complete a game in which i've cheated, except for GTA. It takes away all the fun for me.

Btw; you killed Demon Souls for me :( Nah.

i remember grinding single Places for HOURS to get those Single Stones..

But what shall i say, Duping/Cloning Items isnt the right thing to do, because i think it kills a bit of the experience. BUT i think reverting all your stuff is kinda.. dumb? Because this destroys your experience even more, mate. you had 'those', and yet you give them away. I dunno. wouldnt do that, but loosing things i had (However earned) would kinda piss me off.

So yeah, i think no one's biting your head off if you keep what you've earned (Even if it wasnt deserved earnings =D) if you dont cheat online, everythings fine.

Well I had two weps that were at Dragon 2. I upgraded several of them to 5 just to test out the damage then switched back to 2. I didn't completely go back to basic : p  (except for the ones I never upgraded in the first place).

When I was doing this earlier, I was barely realizing something - it takes a meltstone to degrade a weapon, and there's only a single guaranteed one in the entire game  O_o

When I noticed that I noticed that I used my last and only meltstone, I quit the game through the PS menu and started it up again. Turns out it didn't save! So I had to dupe that melstone to degrade all the weps I changed to Dragon 5.

I think permanent decisions such as upgrading/using demon souls is much more brutal and unforgiving rather than the gameplay and bosses themselves! And on a random note, King Allant is dead. I dropped lots of weight off my guy to stay mobile and kept my distance so he'd keep using his rush attackthing. Second Chance was a huge life saver - I would've been dead several times without it  =l

Anyways, still wish the glitch wasn't around....the fact that hours/days worth of progress could easily be done with a little 30-second dupe is slightly demotivating, but definitely gonna keep playing!

Can't wait to do some pvp  =o

Didn't realize you can dupe in DS. Regardless, those who are going for the plat will struggle to get even ONE pure bladestone, which is all that is needed really. Otherwise I'd say the chunks of cloudstone might be worth duping I guess..

As long as you're duping...you might as well exploit the cheap way to beat False King Allant if you're getting trouble ;)

I got the plat in DS, it was worth it.

That was very stupid of you although I understand the temptation. I never use cheats or known glitches but if I can outsmart or abuse some poorly balanced element in the game I always tend to do it. I can't help it.

Can you send me the link? Ive beat the game 3 times... i dont want to go through the game again to platnium it. It wont ruin the experience for me since ive played through it

I got Platinum in my fourth playthrough (you need 4x Pureblood Demon's Soul to Platinum without cheat)... I spended 96 hours and every new playthrough was better then previous (except the first one).

I had more trouble with Chunk of Cloudstone than the Pure of Bladestone.

I loved the game and I was helping a friend to Platinum too with co-op play... but the PSN fell.
