Why would it drop to, and stay at, 20-30k, when even at its lowest before the Beta it had 27k? Perhaps it will, but at this stage the figures suggest it's perfectly possible that Gears 3 could get more pre orders than Reach (I made no mention of lifetime, it's not relevant). |
halo 3 has more lifetime sales than halo 2, with bigger fw, gears 2 has more LT sales than gears 1, also has bigger fw. mass effect 2 same story as with fallout NV(or it will soon). odst had smaller fw than halo 2 thus less lifetime sales. Its the same with 2 games from almost any series excluding games when there is a noticable drop in quality.
Is it just me or is there a trend there.
It is not plausible that gears3 has more pre-orders than reach. in america halo is twice as popular as gears. gears 3 has more pre-orders for 2 reason 1 because the game was previously supposed to come out in april, thus people were pre ordering the game last year when they thought it was coming out sooner. If there wasnt a beta i think the game would have had 2-10k pre-order weeks up until this point. And 2 you basically had to pre-order it to get into the beta.
The reason i expect it to drop to 20-30k weekly is because a few 100 thousand people(i believe up to 450k people) pre-ordered the game in the past few weeks or months that would not have if there wasnt a beta. those people would have done it much closer to launch. That is also the reason i think it will only have 1(small chance at 2) 100k week before launch.
Im not some sony fanboy who just wants to down microsoft, quit the opposite im a xbox "Fanboy". People shouldnt think to far into pre-order numbers they are very misleading. Gears of war isnt anywere near as popular as halo
Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)
