I don't really see it being much smaller than FFXIII, and it was three DVDs ~1 BD already. It's definitely possible but I'd like to know what you consider the difference between 'possible' and 'maybe'. They're both 'possible' but both also include an uncertainty factor, ie. both are sort of 'maybe'.

EDIT: Oops, I missed the 'two' in the title! No, there's practically no way it's coming on two BDs. It's possible but I seriously doubt it.

Why is this good?? - this suggests that it will have more cutscenes than the amazingly dull 6 hours of cutscenes in FF13. somthing i wont allow myself to endure again.

either way i doubt the sales will make up for the 6 years the game has been in development, adversly neither will 6 hours of cutscenes.

definatly possible...maybe even 3 blu rays if they working another 500 years on it... :-/

It wouldn't excite me more if that's true.

I left the "quantity excitement" back in late 1990's before the PSX gen was over.

Well if its true that would really hamper the idea that it would go to the Xbox 360.

6 hours of cutscenes in ff13 =/= 6 hours of cutscenes in ffv13.

Two completely different directors

of course it's possible for ff vs 13 to be on 2 blu rays, but i just wonder how long it would take to complete if it was like 100gb in size.

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

I hope it does :P It took me 96 hours and 30 minutes to get the platinum trophy in Final Fantasy XIII and the game had only 6 hours of cutscenes, that means there were 90 hours and 30 minutes of gameplay... that's way too much gameplay compared to cutscenes.

That's 6.21% of the game for cutscenes and 93.79% percent for gameplay.

I'd say if it takes 100 hours to get the platinum it should have between 10 and 20 hours of cutscenes.

I hope they have little compression like the FFXIII cutscenes because they look nice.

BTW, they could also just render all cutscenes in real time so they don't take as much space.

I'm not entirely sure but I believe I have read news a long time ago that said they were trying to re-do the pre-rendered/pre-recorded cutscenes to make them run in real time.

Anyways, pre-recorded/pre-rendered cutscenes and uncompressed sound (voices, music, sound effects, etc) are the stuff that take up the most space... but they can also fill the rest of the space with other stuff like lots of summons, characters, enemies, different locations, cities/towns, lakes/oceans/rivers, mountains, a big open world full of life, secret bosses, secret dungeons, secret summons, secret characters, etc.

I hope they take as much advantage from the PS3 as possible... They had the time and the game probably won't be released in two more years so...

"amazingly dull 6 hours of cutscenes in FF13."

...Are you serious? It is one of the only times that a cutscene longer than 5 minutes hasn't put me to sleep. With most other games, I am mashing every button trying to skip the cutscenes, because they are so mind numbingly boring. I happily sat through every cutscene FFXIII through at me, it was either rediculously beautiful, action packed and epic or contained a huge amount of character and story development.

The irony is, FFXIII has a cutscene skip feature in the first place, so why are you complaining?

Anyway...

The more cutscenes the better, I am a sucker for pretty pre-rendered cutscenes, especially CGI. Although I want Square Enix to put all that content in, 2 Blu-Ray discs aren't needed. Can't they just add more layers to the Blu-Ray disc anyway?
