People, please... Why does anyone expect NiGHTS to sell well? It won't. It's a sequel to an 11 year old title that was niche in it's own day. NiGHTS didn't exactly have great sales either - it sold a whooping .43 million. But it had a cult following that loved it dearly.

If NiGHTS:JiD does .5m lifetime, then I think we can safely say it was a success as it outsold it's predecessor and made Sega money. If it makes 1m ww then it'll be a HUGE success, but I think that's highly unlikely to happen, but maybe through word of mouth, it might, eventually.

Nor is this a game that most people would even like, it is fairly unique and not everyone's cup of tea. I should know, I own it, I like it, but my son thinks it's utter garbage.

 Well, as others have stated, Japanese sales were awful but.. based on purely anecdotal information it seems to have sold poorly here (USA) as well. Its really a niche title, because the original game in the series is so old and it really hasn't been promoted that much.. also, this kind of title seems to thrive on word of mouth and according to reviews, it isn't that great.

who in chartz has picked it up?

Everything seems to sell weird in Japan these days, so I wouldn't call it a bomb just yet. Probably not a million seller, but it might make it half-way there.

I bought it. It's really fun, but probably the weirdest game I've ever played.

It's an average game. I'd rate it about 7.5. It's not a necessity to get but its fun, and a good bit of replay value.
