Though this makes me wonder... where's Nintendo and the "we can only produce 1.8 million consoles per month". While they almost sell it in 1 week, so where did they get the other more than 1.5 million consoles from?

It's called "holiday stockpiling". Quite a regular tactic, even when supply-constrained. What's worse for a manufacturer, I ask you: having excessive unmet demand during the off season, or having excessive unmet demand during the holiday season? You're much more likely to lose potential customers if your holiday shipments are far too low than if your non-holiday shipments are. This is because most people buying a luxury item during the off season are more determined to find one than the ones who start searching during the holiday rush.

I'm assuming not, since I don't remember seeing Halo 3 sales before release.

the rainchecks were not counted in, and if they were, I am pretty sure that the number would nto be too huge, maybe 60,000 or so.
