It's called Christmas. As Leo-j has said elsewhere, next week will probably be much less, but not because there isn't the demand. Still a great December for Nintendo.

I think it is more interesting that it managed to sell >50% market share in the busiest week of the year.

incredible. How many more units could Nintendo sold if not supply constrained? 2 million a week (...3 million)?

I really think 1-1.5 million a week would have been doable for 2-3 weeks if sufficient supply existed. 2 million a week would be crazy for a console.

However, if you meant if they stockpiled all their consoles and sold them in 1 week like they did this last week, then yes, i could see up to 2 million quite easy.

I saw some people today inside a gamestop looking for a Wii. Gamestop had wii boxes... sadly they were just display boxes.

They considered buying a PS3, but oddly decided against it when they found out they stopped selling the 20 GB.

Also saw a 50-70 year old woman by herself browsing the Wii games. Which was weird the day AFTER X-mas. Maybe she got one as a gift.

Also saw someone buy a gamecube... which was amazing.

my prediction for 1 million was correct. haha at people dissing my numbers. 18.98 million by Jan 1st will happen. HA!!

A lot of people were calling 1.5 million in the prediction thread. Of course, we already had EU data and a good handle on NA sales.

I think Leo's 500k prediction for the last week of '07 is reasonable. Heck, it might even be optimistic, depending on how many stops they pulled out to get 1.5 million Wiis on the market this week.

I swear they are selling more than they are making.
