Forums - Gaming - Games that deserve more attention.

I don't care about hardware sales. I'm not interested in calling doom and gloom on you-know-who. I don't like bitching about a system I've seen nothing of. I've never been too big on online gaming, and I've always used PSN cards for my PS Store purchases.

For these reasons I don't really find myself caring about most threads going on right now. So I thought it'd be a fresh change of pace to see a thread actually dedicated to games. Remember those? The silly little things this website wouldn't exist without?

Aaaanyway... Just a couple o' days ago, I replayed the finest six levels of shoot 'em up heaven this side of Ikaruga and U.N Squadron, which you may or may not (probably the latter) know as Axelay.

Sure, it's short, but it's so well made, you'll gleefully be playing it again, trying to beat your own high scores, just because of how sheerly fun it is. (Well, if you're anything like me, at least.)

Oh, and its soundtrack kicks ass.

It's actually on the Virtual Console in North America, Australia and Japan. I say give it a shot, if you have some Nintendo Points lying around.

I have some other games in mind too, but I'll talk about them later if this thread catches on. (Wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't, though. I've seen other, better threads get far less posts than they should.)

all games other then cod

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

The Legend of Heroes: Trails In The Sky for PSP

My favorite JRPG This Gen... and possibly my favorite game this gen. Though Technically it could be called last gen... as it was released on the PC in Japan in 2004.

The characters and writing are my favorite this gen. The story is good though a bit typical, is told really well.
And The battle system is one of the better battle system's I've played this gen. The Music's really good too. I'll probably ellaborate later. But, I have to leave.

I think the Tales series and the Metal Gear series need more attention.

Sure Metal Gear Solid sells tonnes of copies, but most people at my school have never even heard of it o.0

but my answer is the entire Tenchu franchise...they take alot of heat not takin any big steps but the core mechanics are still fun...but AI needs a serious upgrade.

Fuck you for not buying it yet and fuck you for maybe reading my post and still not buying it. It's one of the greatest games of the generation and the death of Cavia is one of the worst gaming tragedies in the history of this entertainment medium. Youtube and reviews aren't going to tell you what the game is, hell, I can't even tell you what the game is, but if you give it your time and patience, then you'll see that all the problems you have ever had with Sqaure Enix will be wiped away. It's like $20, don't be an asshole and just buy it. I bought Demons Soul's because of you guys and after trying and playing it again, I've decided that it sucks balls and takes way too much time, you owe me.

It's one of the best looking games ever, the art design, the soundtrack, the methods used for plot development and the gameplay mechanics are all extremely unique and beautiful. The use of the six asis is really cool and the whole monster capturing aspect of the game (like Pokemon) is fun, but it can get a little repitive with it's combat and that's the only flaw I can find with the game. It's great, you should play it, it's an excellent addition to your collection, look it up on Youtube and then buy it.

Fun as shit, nothing like it on any current system, the sequel is coming out, great addition to your collection and you get to blow the shit out of giant ants and skyscrapers.

I had never played a Yakuza game before playing three, I bought it because it was on sale and I heard about it before on the forums and it was one of the greatest gaming purchases I ever made. First off, there is an optional recap for the first two at the main menu, the game is easy to play and you won't find a similar game on any system. You will spend hours doing nothing in this game, my god, I haven't put more time into side missions, side activities and picking fights with random people since playing Oblivion, you will get your money worth. It's fun, the combat is actually fun and has depth to it and the RPG elements of the game are easy to understand and manipulate. The world of Yakuza is it's main selling point, it's fantastic and you will feel immersed. The story will make you smile, love, rage and maybe even shed a  tear and the characters will become to so important to you, that when things happen involing them, you actually feel legitimate emotions for a digital character.

Gamers complain that games aren't unique enough these days, but that's usually a sign of ignorance on their part, because a bunch of these games get released every year and they are usually ignored. I have given you four great and unique games, all of them can be bought for a low price and if you don't like them, then screw you.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

I know, I know... I just want to get some convos going on about stuff I care about.

I took a look at a few other gaming forums, and I instantly spotted multiple threads dedicated to actually discussing interactive entertainment. I then checked out VGChartz's front page, and there's what? 4, 5, maybe 6 threads? And it's a video game website, for Pete's sake!

I wish there was a separate "Console Discussion" sub-forum or something.
