when sony and microsoft said the 360 and ps3 would last 10 years i always took it as there consoles would be in production for 10 years with about 3 of those years after there next console came out.

  This could be the reason why 360 doesnt have a ton of games coming out.

 



Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

It will be interesting to see what kind of tech rumors surface regarding this, and how they compare to the tech rumors in Cafe

I remember Microsoft claiming a while back that the Xbox 360 will out live the PS3.  If a new Xbox will come true in the near future, I wonder how it will eventually effect Xbox 360 manufacturing.

Also did anyone really expect a 10 year life cicle for any console? Neither Microsoft nor Sony will give Nintendo a 2-3 year headstart. I could see a PS4 release later (like late 2013) since Sony still needs some time to recover enough of the PS3 losses and the NGP release in 2011/2012 will keep them busy.

E3 could get even more interesting now (and Nintendo will be under quite some pressure now haha )


true i think if the  nintendo leaks didnt happen and nintendo not coming out and saying the cafe is real etc , i think at e3 nintendo wouldnt have pressure but looks like they might now woo

Well Nintendo has been really self-confident lately. Not arrogant yet but that could've happened had the 3DS been an explosive success. Nintendo only makes great products when they are under heavy pressure (read: when their handheld and console business is in danger) and pressure they deserve right now. It's like a rule of some sort: When you're too long at the top of the gaming industry you become arrogant and go crazy. It happened to Sony and it happens to Nintendo as well. Some years at the bottom really helped Sony to get their act together so maybe it will help Nintendo as well.

Let's not forget how quickly and aggressively MS launched the 360. This will change everything if true.

I wanted MS and Sony to hold on until 2013 a least. I mean, the 360 just peaked and may do so again this year, so why?

Oh, well, I hope the rumour's not true

eh, with actual xbox profits hidden inside a bigger division inside microsoft it is hard to say if they haven't already made back their money.  I've seen people take apart the earning reports before, and I think that they are really close to breaking even with the 360 or have already broke even and are making a profit.  

Not that it really matters if a system lost money in the past.  In the grand scheme of things with stocks, all that matters is if it is making a profit at the moment, and it is and has been.  

I always heard how MS and Sony were on the red till awhile ago - or am i that stuck in the past? :D
