Forums - Sony - Tales Of Graces F Exclusive To PS3 Confirmed!

I'm definitely disappointed as a Wii only owner. Especially if what is said on this thread is true. If Graces F is indeed 6.5 GB on PS3, and running in the same engine as Graces, then what's to stop Bamco from just copying the finished port onto a DVD (lowering the resolution on textures and menus if necessary) including the English voice-work and calling it a day?

I mean Wii controls already exist on the Japanese version so essentially the English version is content complete on Wii. I'm no game developer but this sounds like a job that would take a two-man team no more than a month or two to get done...

Either my estimation is completely wrong for some reason or the major cost is not development but instead manufacturing and shipping. In that case Bamco would have to think the game would sell quite badly on Wii, despite the lack of competition and previous success of Tales games on Wii and GC.

In laymen terms, this is bullsh*t.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

It's seems that Namco took the info down quite shortly after posting.

I don't understand why Namco is being so skittish about the patforms.  It makes me wonder if they are planning something radical like backporting everything to the Wii and making it Wii exclusive or pulling a big one and making the thing 360 exclusive in the West.

I imagine it's still coming to PS3, but they are deciding on other platforms at the moment.  Either way, it's all because Namco is incompetent with marketing.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Ugh, just my freaking luck, This game was one of my most anticipated for the Wii.

Just that kinda year for Nintendo... Oh well I guess I'll be passing on this game then. Oh, and eff you Namco.

Idiots. They're just leaving money on the table

Ok, Nintendo not putting mario on the xbox 360 leaves money on the table...u mad bro?

That's a bad analogy. Tales of Graces has already been completed for Wii. It actually released on Wii first in Japan. It just needs to be localized. And since the script for the Wii and PS3 versions of the game are the same. They are leaving money on the table.

This is an uncharacteristically smart move by Namco. With the demise of PSN, PS3 owners will need lengthy single-player games. They saw an opening, and they pounced.

Hey if Xbox fans can use console exclusive in their list wars how about we start calling it HD exclusive?

To be fair, Namco are actually thinking ahead with this decision. Obviously they could have released the Wii version alongside the PS3 version and saw more copies sold, but with the next main entry in the series exclusive to PS3, it makes sense to try and build up some sort of fanbase among PS3 owners.
