The year-on-year figures are really good for AMD, and really bad for Nvidia. Will they come back?

when they lower there prices. I had no problems with my AMD card, and it was far cheaper than an nvidia one.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

This is the reason why Nvidia is diversifying to mobile chips and high performance computing/GPGPU, they can't compete with the disruption caused by both AMD/Intel combining graphics into their chips.

Tease.

Nvidia lost their Apple contract for the current generation of Apple hardware for whatever that was worth.

The previous C2D based MBPs, MBs, iMacs, etc. all used Nvidia chipsets to include both integrated Nvidia video as well as discrete GPUs. All of the Sandy Bridge based Macs are currently using AMD discrete GPUs. Apple does tend to flip flop between GPU vendors though.

While Nvidia support is still arguably better for consumer cards (gaming) as well as professional workstation cards, it doesn't seem as though the differences are such that they warrant choosing Nvidia over AMD. Possibly unless you're buying a workstation card.

My guess would be that AMD is kiling them on $$$ spent on similar performance, and features like Cuda, physx and 3D vision are not pushing their cards any more.

Combine that with the fact that AMD is starting to sell cpu/gpu combos for low end, and Nvidia is in trouble.

as an AMD/ATI (yes I know ATI as a brand doesnt exsist anymore but I prefer to still call their GPUs such) fanboy this can only be posistive news... i'm quite suprised by how much of the market Intel own even if almost every pre-made laptop is fitted with Intel intergrated graphics chips it just seems rediculous.

I like to think that my recent purchase of an AMD/ATI PC has helped :) All I see at Best Buy and on newegg are Intel/Nvidia based PCs. Oh well. I may be an AMD fanboy but I don't want Nvidia to go away. The past couple years have been great for Nvidia though. So we will see where this goes.

With AMD chipsets reallowing SLi again, they will come back. Also Nvidia has entered the CPU market.

Nvidia deserves more for making the best GPUs on the market. Myah.

Intel have there intergated graphics that are in an tonne of laptops, AMD are currently in next gen apple laptops which Apple Laptops are just "IN" right now, probably because they look awesome and i dont know why ASUS haven't ripped off Apples Style laptops and not charge "Apple pricing".

Also AMD have come in as the "Budget" solution to Nvidia more Upmarket GPU's.
