Okay... I thought they said it would be better than PS3 and 360 in terms of specs. If this is true... I doubt it.

I certainly hope they at least go with a normal HDD. Even starting off with a small 80GB model is ok and far better than a 8GB flash memory.

They should also copy PS3 in that the HDD is a regular HDD and not proprietary. But focusing on SD card solution is simply a bad idea and far more confusing to the regular consumer.

8gb storage doesn't sound enough to me, I hope this rumour doesn't turn out to be true. It would be a pain to install games, DLC, to change cards, etc.

Less than 1080p is not ideal either, but I guess it's not too different from current HD games. I mean, if Wii could stay this long in the market without supporting HD, Café can pull this off.

A 25gb disc sounds good enough if Café is just as powerful as current HD consoles.

Anyway, their just rumours and we'll have to wait for the real deal.

8GB of storage is plenty for most uses. Anyway preventing 1080P may have some practical reason im not sure for instance because of the controllers.

I don't hope the storage solution is true, as it signals that Nintendo aren't as serious as they ought to be with their online service at least. Having demos seems like a no go, and much of the DLC and other downloadable games I can think of on the PS360 (which is what Nintendo seeks to best if the rumors are anything to go by) would fill up 8 GB of space pretty fast.

Maybe a portion of the disc space will be writable so DLC and patches can be put on the discs themselves like with the NGP?

bolded, It's a non-issue. 720p or 1080i is more than sufficient in any scenario. Only the elite core really care and they are by far not the majority of anything but opinions.

However, I don't think its a matter of capability, but more of do we need to add in the costs for such a minor change in detail?

I actually kind of agree with you, that's why I said it's not ideal (because some gamers are going to demand it, and especially among the hardcore gamers that Nintendo supposedly want to attract this time around), but it shouldn't be a major problem during Café's lifetime either. Most people aren't able to notice the difference.

8 Gb is too small, i had to upgrade to 500 Gb just to manage.  not that everyone need 500 Gb but 8 is really too small for most people.  remember, if the wii 2 gets third party support that mean required game installs as that is pretty common now-a-days.

1080p would be amazing but honestly i never expect the wii2 to get there.  even when the ps360 make the jump into the next gen at significantly more power than the wii2 i'd wager many of the games will run at sub 1080p.

Terrible idead, 8GB is way too small- no way around it. And the console should be powerful enough for all games to be 1080p. Afterall, this will compete with PS4 and 720- not ps3 and 360.
