In the wake of the "Scandall" of sony invasion, and a lot of essays and "news" all pointing toward total doom - going from 21% PS3 users going to XBOX360 (maybe they already owned one before, why care to ask) to 24Billion dollars debt because of it (some watergate contability) - what happens? Sony is yet again sales lider this week.

So what is your opinion? Did the scandal gave extra publicity - you know "bad publicity is still publicity" - or the way Sony handled the situation (the VG opinion is "total fiasco") - I think they showing they are improving security and even tough a major invasion have happened they still didn't let the Hackers really get password (some people here didn't keep the records that the password wasn't cryped, but they were hashed) and CC information (that some genius tough was in plaintext, but were cryptografed) shows that they have a safe network.

All in all for Sony will be gospel to leave the crysis strenghtened and selling even better, for the haters it will be a tough time.

No it is bad for SONY -- it will have a large opportunity cost and a minor actual cost for the company. Overall the difficulty SONY is going to have is re-gaining alot of consumer trust which will take a few years.

Only in the fanboy universe could being hacked, information stolen and having servers shut down for weeks be good news.

If by chaos you mean losing customer's trust, tarnishing Sony's & PSN's image, and potentially losing future adopters, then yes, it's good for Sony.

Honestly, I thought they would recover, then they were hacked again. I officially say they are screwed beyond belief.

Apparently you havent heard the news that the japanese servers and all of Sony Computer Entertainment's PC game servers are down. Yes they were hacked, and they are officially down worse than what were. Apparently 2.6 million people's info was taken.

Out of all this, I expect if Sony isn't bankrupt, they won't be making a PlayStation 4.

Apparently you failed at reading the news since that supposedly happened during the same time the PSN attack occured. Furthermore it's 24.6 million, not 2.6, and 12700 CC numbers or something aorund that.

I heard that part, but I've heard that some hacked the rebuilt servers. Still unconfirmed I guess? Then again, I'm not sure that the news i just stated have mentioned. I did get it privately in a Skype call from some investors and Microsoft server officials (they are looking into how the hack happened to prevent it from happening to them). They did mention everything I stated should be public knowledge though... I think the 2.6 million people are SOE's stolen data, not the PSN's.

Where is the it will hurt Sony but not nearly as much as these people writting riddicules articles based on bs numbers are saying it will option?
