Microsoft sold through another 2.5m X360s. In the December 2010 quarter, Microsoft sold through 10% more systems than it shipped according to VGChartz data - 7m sold vs. 6.3m shipped. Thus shipments are likely around 2.3m units this quarter as Microsoft burns through more stock.

Thing is they have two products to cut... kinect and the console itself.

I'd discontinue the standalone 4gb

Then somehow manage a $199 to 4gb with kinect that would flyyyyy  (which represents a $50 kinect reduction and a $50 360 cut)

add on top a 250gb with Kinect at $299.

plus a standalone 250gb at $229

ambitious but massive over the holidays if they pulled it off.

Have they not used logic incorrectly.

They are saying that MS sold more than they shipped in last Qtr (Oct - Dec, 2010).  So this means that the retailers were low on stocks.

Plus they said that 2.5 more are sold to customer in this Qtr ( jan - Mar, 2011)

So now MS has to ship what they sold to the customers MS has to ship to retailers to fill their stocks also which were got low in last Qtr due to more system sold to the customers then shipped..

So it should be

2.5M (sold to customer this Qtr) 200k to 300k (for the retailers to refill stock).

so you presumably expect that the PS3 should be adjusted down quite a bit now then... ?

and yes I did bump it for that, I like rattling cages...

I may also be reminding a few other here of their usual calls for a downward adjustment of the 360 when there is a relatively small ship/sale gap.   Anyway looks like Sony really did stuff that channel after all.

Waiting for the GT5 shipment number to salvage something,  if thats low too, we may never see him ever again.
