The country is in trouble, and I'm the man to save it... just as soon as I finish my reality TV show!

He's their White House correspondent. I dunno what he said or did that precipitated this. |
Nah, I meant Ed Schultz. As for the press. I mean the whole "focus on the birther" thing was what forced it. People were believing it more and more and the "Birther's are stupid!" constant media message actually pushed people towards it and not away from it.
Never has more time been spent on a story that all the media agreed "wasn't a story."
Had the media ignored it, chances are the number of people who beleived in it would of disapered and the story would of been forgotten until a crazy journalism proffessor published an academic study claiming he was guilty. (This literally just happened.)
Like with the "Sarah Palin faked her pregnancny" people.

Oh. He's just unstable. MSNBC left him out of electoral coverage promos last year, so he called everyone in the news room "fuckers" and threatened to burn the place down. Then Phil Griffin told him he'd be fired if he ever did anything like that again, and he went on a crying jag.

Makes sense. Shame, I like people who hate everyone.
Keeps you on your toes.

As for doubters ridiculing themselves etc... I'm sure that's what he thought would be the case too, and why he didn't do it in the first place, which would of taken little effort. However that shows a distinct lack of attention to the polls. The number of "birthers" was only rising, among all parties... and had steadily been rising before trump. Something like 50% of americans (not republicans) thought it was a valid question. The brither craze wasn't scaring the middle.. the middle was buying into it. (Which is silly considering the lack of new "evideince.") Though Obama himself was leaving open that "Door or doubt" which allowed people to shift into it. |
Can you link me to that poll?
yeah...its totally just going to go away that obama could have done this years ago and refused to.

Probably. I've linked it on thise website a couple times before. Will give it a few googles. Since i post too much on this site, probably faster that way.
A more expediant example may be
http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/2011-04-25-trump-president-poll.htm
"Still, in the USA TODAY poll, only 38% of Americans say Obama definitely was born in the USA, and 18% say he probably was. Fifteen percent say he probably was born in another country, and 9% say he definitely was born elsewhere."
38% 18% = 56%.
So, 44% = Don't know or unsure. Close to 50%... even if you don't think any of the 18% who say "Probably" think there is a chance. . which would be highly unlikely.
Trump's numbers are actually pretty similar in the poll, though a lot of that might just be people screweing around at trumps expense.
Me, i'd have to go in that 30% of "Don't know enough" though.

Looks like the belief that the way you build an audience is to be an angry partisan. I think the Daily Show called the Microsoft Need Barrack Channel's Ed bombastic (see link below). So, take that for what it is worth.
