Soulcalibur Director Hopes To Announce “Something” In May

By Ishaan . April 25, 2011 . 1:32pm

Soulcalibur director, Daishi Odashima, hopes to make an announcement regarding the new game in mid-May. On his Twitter feed, Odashima posted: “Hopefully I will be able to announce something mid May.”

As always, Odashima also posted a few other bits and pieces of information about the game, this time about controls. “This time we plan on reducing commands like A+K so moves are easier to pull off on pad,” Odashima tweeted. “Difficult commands only limits the moves players can use but changing them suddenly may make things feel strange. The balance is hard.”

Odashima himself prefers to play Soulcalibur with an arcade stick, but added that there just isn’t a stick that’s for him. “I prefer stick but there’s no stick in the world that I like so I don’t own a ‘my stick’,” he revealed. “At work I use pad most of the time.”

Love the series, but without a large graphical increase it is just recycled material. If they actually, make decent stories for the Story mode I could see some legitamicy in purchasing this one.

thats incredibly shallow but as in content they need to put

a realstory mode like in SC2

the unique classes like in SC3

a mode just for created chracter like SC3

challenge mode from SC3

bring  theater, exhibition and weapon gallery back

and im happy

and actually have cool guest chracters

Shallow, thats a little strong way to describe lack of hype for a game series that only deserves one game every generation. I would hold this standard to all fighting games.  Be happy, I'm just saying I liked SOUL Calibur IV alot and do not need a new one until next gen.

yea from that view you would be correct..buts it better than what CAPCOM pulls, buying the same game multiple times is stupid

Drop all the shitty half assed guest and mixed characters and concentrate on canonical fighters.

This milking claim is made alot, but those who like it enough it is worth it. Kind of reminds me of Street fighter IV coming out after a many year hiatus and than immediately following it with Supu Street Fighter.    Other games have definantly been worse than Soul Calibur.

what is a soulcaliber ?

Anyway I'd just like to see a SC2 remake :P

remaking fighting games is pointless becuase every installment is pretty much a enhanced remake at the core.
