Cnet probably had something to do with this.

If its true its pretty important as gamespot is one of the biggest sites out there - bigger than IGN.
Just because I think they are a bunch of biased idiots with no credibility makes no difference =\
I still think IGN is the defining GotY award as they are the only truly respectable site out of the big ones - GT is also pretty important as they are respectable also.

that was mostly jeff and he has left
Bioshock was a good game, but it was nowhere near the game that Deus Ex and System Shock were before it.
It was a dumbed-down version of REAL FPSRPGs. I did enjoy it, but it could have been deeper and I would have loved it.
"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks
@Alex: there isn't one, since they haven't 'officially' had their awards yet.
