The Last Airbender

Holy shit, it's such a bad movie. If your a fan of the series, your going to puke out of your ears, if your not, then your only just going to hate it and probably carve 'outrage' into your calves. The acting is horrendous, in this modern day, we should be able to find competent child actors just hanging from monkey gyms, but it's like M. Night decided to take the lead actor of 'The Room', clone a few child versions of him and then dress them up like the three Airbender characters. Everyone else in the cast was just as bad, the Slumdog kid is meant to be a good actor (based on Skins and Slumdog), but I guess his only good when you have a sane director taking the charge.

The choreography is thumb snappingly bad, they literally have no clue what they're doing on screen and it's mind blowing that they coouldn't fart out some decent fighting action. I've seen random people on Youtube videos do a much better job at keeping me entertained with some decent choreography and I highly doubt that they had a $150 million to do it.

The movie fits very loosely around the plot of the main series, but that's something I can understand and I can appreciate when directors can create a quality two hour experience, while using the original plot as a framework instead of a straight adaptation. He didn't create a quality experience.

My biggest gripe with the whole movie is M. Nights writing and camera direction, he is a fucking ape with that camera, he has no idea what his doing. Every shot he makes, he makes thinking they are cool, but they just remind me of old straight to DVD Disney kid films. He should also never write a script ever again, he can't write, that's basically it, he CAN'T write. In his world, every character is a robotic word generator and it shows so badly on the big screen.

I have an extremely high tolerance when it comes to movies, I enjoy watching bad films and I go out of my way to find bad films. Hell, I even enjoy watching Japanese gore comedies about school girls getting robot arms and battling vampires, but The Last Airbender is a whole new level of bad. It's one of the few movies I actually despise, it's the only one that actually received a high budget, a few talented people and a great concept to fall back on.

Usually I'd recommend bad movies, songs and games, but I can't recommend The Last Airbender, I don't want to harm your world outlook by showing you how  untalented people can be given hundreds of millions of dollars and free reign to what ever the fuck they want and get away with it.

OMG THIS!!!! thank god someone else bought my ticket

other movies would be:

Demolition Man(just absolutely horrible...what were Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, and Sandra Bullock thinking when they made that movie)

Dragon Wars:(I knew this was going to be a bad movie...but damn I was wrong, it was fucking terrible...I actually asked for my money back!!!)

Scary Movie 3&4(mostly any other parady movie)

Shutter Island(it was an okay movie and the ending was so predictable it wasn't even funny)

Forbidden Kingdom(had the right idea of finally putting jackie-chan and jet-li in a movie together but the only good part was them fighting)

Holy fuck they actually made something like that?

But i would have to say Date Movie. First of the "______ Movie" line after the Scary Movie series, and i was quite readily fooled into watching that crap.

The thing is i'm very choosy about watching movies in the theatre, so i see most movies when they hit cable 2-plus years later

They make TONS of movies like this.

Most of the responses here are just well marketed movies that weren't as good as other well marketed movies.  They don't come close to approaching the incredible number of BAD movies floating around.

We'll be watching this sometime soon:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1205071/synopsis

Also, has anybody else here seen the Human Centipede?  It was so horrible.

are we going for so bad it's hilarious (ala Battlefield Earth, The Room, The Asylum's Sherlock Holmes, and most of Ed Wood's filmography) or so bad it's just...bad and boring (i.e. Last Airbender, The Expendable, Sucker-Punch)? Because I can tell you that you can get a TON of entertainment out of bad movies (though just never give the makers the impression you're entertained because it's good)

True, just like when we talk about "bad" games, we talk about games like Daikatana or Haze, not Ninjabread Man or random bad flash games. We don't expect people to have played those games, or watched those movies

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Dragonball Evolution was fucking terrible. Whoever participated in the making of that movie should be fired!

Has anyone seen the Yogi Bear Movie?

There are VERY FEW movies I dislike. But the worst I've seen?

...

I really don't know right now.

The Fountain I guess.

first movie that come to my mind is Be kind rewind

Assault girls, Dune, and Transformers I think since everyone likes to complain about transformers I won't write about that.

Assault girls was directed Mamoru Oshii. The director of two of my absolute favorite movies ghost in the shell 1 and 2. As well as other good ones like avalon.

Now The Assault girls premise is a good premise for some campy fun with awesome action sequences. Instead you get a bland dialogue heavy with a couple of good action sequences, the main girl is pretty cool looking. With hardly any laughs. And the action sequences were a lot below average for oshii.

There is nothing hilarous about that movie.  Its so bad it hurts.  Still not sure how the fuck he spent his entire 7 million budget.  Must have paid that hooker a buttload of money.
