LOL, well... judging by this tech demo and assuming their next game looks like this, then Tri-Ace will beat Square Enix in graphics. In fact, I think Tri-Ace will have the best graphics any Japanese developer has ever been able to achieve up to this day :P I haven't seen any japanese game do what Tri-Ace has shown in that tech demo.
I don't think they'd like to kill SE though since they wouldn't have anyone to publish their games if they do, lol.

Star Ocean 5 for X360/PS3 seems to be a given at this point. A new Valkryie Profile would be nice as well though.

Xbox 360 wants to Kinect & PS3 wants to Move! Why are both systems having such relationship problems? The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

This is just a tech demo. This is just tri-Ace saying "look what we can still do with the power we've yet to tap with the current generation". This isn't for another Star Ocean or whatever, even if you have a Calnus in the background in the ending shot. This almost seems like a "take that" to people like Crytek, DICE, and Ubisoft who are whining that they need the next generation of consoles.
Anyway, I don't think this is a representation of any new Star Ocean game. They said they were done with that. Ages ago. I'd like to see Valkyrie Profile 3, with the upgrades they've obviously made to their ASKA Engine.

we have the SO character cameos
we have the obvious star ocean theme in the backround
a few of the ships including the calnus that appeared in SO4
the female character has the pointed ears a tradmark of the nedian race ya kmow...from SO
and just the general space theme in general
the only thing that stands out is the male lead
to say this this doesnt represent a vision for the next SO is retarded when the vid basically hints to it.

aiming for SE's throat?? well thats not saying much especially when Atlus has already surpaased SE in terms of quality games and SE falling more and more into the abyss. if Tri-ace wants the JRPG crown, then theyll have to go through Atlus to get it and that will not be easy =p
