I bought the Wii mostly because of platformers. But SMG 1 and 2 were alright but overrated in my opinnion. NSMB Wii dissapointed me greatly. Fortunalty, Donkey Kong makes up for everything (best platformer I've played in last 8 years). But I was wodnering if there are any non-Nintedo platformers on Wii, I've never played a non- Nitendo game on Wii before ( at least not a good non Nintendo game), so I was wondering if you can recommend me some non Nintendo platformers on Wii?

I will never converse with you again.

They are overrated IMO because of the simple fact there is little to no platofrming in SMG ( i havent played SMG2 till the end, so I cant say) you spend most of the time spinning and running with power ups on enemies. Its not an actual platformer IMO. SMG2 is way better thou, since it has some actual platforming. And dont get me started on underwater controls...just utter horrible and unplayable.

''the simple fact there is little to no platofrming in SMG''

1. We live in parallel universes

or

2. You haven't played SMG

or

3. You don't know what platforming means.

And what if I added some jumping in there?

There is barely any fun jumping in the game.

There are many. For Example:

  • de Blob 1 & 2
  • Kirbys Epic Yarn
  • A Boy and his Blob
  • A Shadows Tale
  • Klonoa
  • The Kore Gang
  • Wario Land
  • Rabbids Go Home
  • Mushroom Men
  • Super Smash Bros Brawl (has an fabulous Solo-Player with many Jump&Run-Elements)

Wiiware:

  • Nyxquest
  • Jett Rocket
  • Cave Story
  • Lost Winds 1 & 2
  • Mega Men 9 & 10

If that's your opinion then fine. No-one agrees with you though.

Here's some 3D Platformers that I recommend:

Sonic Colors: People call it the return of Sonic for good reason. Fast paced action, power-ups that don't get in the way, no new Sonic friends, and solid gameplay all around. It's my favorite 3D Sonic out there.

Epic Mickey: If you're a fan of classic Disney, you have to get this game. It's more of an Action Platformer like Banjo-Kazooie, but the game is great. Really great. Only problem is its N64/PS era camera. Other than that, the game is magical.

de Blob/de Blob 2: I haven't played the sequel, but the original was a very different type of platformer. Great mix of visuals, music, and gameplay made for a unique and fun experience.

If you're looking for more 2D Platformers:

Kirby's Epic Yarn, Klonoa A Boy and His Blob, and Wario Land: Shake It!

Everything he said, although I would throw in for 2D goodness, the action packed Muramusa and on Wiiware, the unconventonal but still very good Bit.Trip.Runner
