I'm with you with the "enjoying (almost) everything the most with orginal voice acting", but I personally do think that it's important to point out what is your "opinion" and what you claim is "fact".

it's not voice acting there it's ambiance, and yes there it has the intended effect (for P1, haven't played P2) |
Portal 1 has voice acting, wtf do you think GlaDOS is? And everything said is apart of the storyline.

It has certainly never made a game for me, but it has broken many and prevented me from buying even more.
A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

it's an off screen voice...(besides finale). I guess it's just a matter of how I understand voice acting. For me it meant talking for on screen characters, Off screen is much easier to do correctly as you don't have the gooffy persona to lipsynch to or make you look ridiculous even if you do a good job. I'm not saying P1's is bad (it's the opposit, i agree), but to me I percieved it more as ambiance than direct interaction.

Majin is probably a good -> great game, but I didn't buy it, because the western version only has the english voice acting, which is totally unbearable to me and the japanese version costs an arm and a leg. |
But if you actually had it and enjoyed it. I think you could power through shitty voice acting.

No, it never stopped me playing a game. In any case, I think most examples of bad voice acting were during the PS1 era, when it was a new concept for videogames.
No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance on GC was already awesome, but the voice acting made it better. Same goes for Uncharted/Uncharted 2.
Tidus almost ruins FFX, the beauty and the beasts almost ruined MGS4, voice acting also ruined the twin snakes. Voice acting made the original MGS and Demon's Souls for me.
