They'd have to impress me first. I'm not putting down $500 on a console just based on the company manufacturing it, that'd be silly.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

I will probably buy the next Microsoft console. I own all three consoles this gen, and my 360 has gotten the most use by far. I like the Wii, because it has lots of games that I play with my family. My PS3 has a wonderful blu-ray player also(unfortunately I have yet to be wowed by anything I have played on my PS3). I got wowed by Bioshock, which I know is multi platform now, and then by Mass Effect on my 360. I'm still annoyed with the controller for my PS3.  I think the only thing that I don't like about my 360 is the $40 fee for XBL. That being said, I think it is going to be hard for all of the Big Three to offer something that will make me adopt their new console early, even Microsoft. Why should I?

well thats one way to keep an open veiw from ownership and knowing wht your getting first hand, but im not sure theres a point in doing that!

i mean yea you'll miss out on nothing, but you could go 2 yr's withour finding anything interresting on 1 of those 3 plattforms(although unlikely)

You still miss out on games even if you have all the home consoles. I don't have time to play every single interesting game that comes out. But the best of each console are definitely worth checking out imo.

One thing that's happened this gen is that I've stopped playing 360 since the online isn't free and PSN has gone from strength to strenth. Probably Live won't ever be free.

The 3DS is the best 8th gen console currently released, and I won't hear anything else.

In general, though, I suppose it will still be Sony. I lost a little faith in them (just a little) at the beginning of this gen, but they've earned it back, and they do still have God of War, Uncharted and Ratchet (and Team ICO when they can be bothered to do something).

I always buy Nintendo first, then whichever has the most games for it that I want will get my second purchase.

ill have enough cash to buy both cause i have a job lololol

I will eventualy get the PS4 and 720 because I like to play online and shoot shit. I am still hoping that is far in the future.

I'm probably gonna go with Nintendo.  But that's only because they'll release their system first.

I would go with the next PlayStation if their release was in the same year.   But for all we know, Sony isn't going to release a next gen console before at least 2 more years.

Hi!

Im new on this forum and i basically signed up to post and explain you all my situation. Back in time, my first console was a Sega Genesis, then came the N64, then i moved back to my home country(Spain) from the US and got a PSX. After this, i got a ps2 and enjoyed some good gaming years. In this meanwhile, a very very close family member got a job at Microsoft and i got a 360.

Turns out i was basically "out" of gaming for 2 years since i was very busy in college and barely played the 360. When i got back to gaming, all my friends had a ps3 and I decided to purchase one and sold the 360 in order to get it.

However there isnt one day i dont regret not getting the 360s. Not because of the games, but about how bad i feel sorta betraying my family person who works at MS. I feel that i am giving out the profit to the direct rivals and not keeping it at home. Furthermore, my friends all jailbreaked their ps3´s and i cant even play online with them.

What do you guys think i should do? Does it really make a difference? Does it give out a bad image having someone at home that works at MS?

Dude, it doesn't make a difference.  Wal Mart employees can still shop at Target.  Coca Cola workers can drink Pepsi (but why would they want to?).  Burger King employees can still eat at McDonald's.  Microsoft employees can play Playstation.  It's not that serious.  Get what makes you happy and enjoy it.
