Forums - Sales - Each Console Now Has At Least 100 "One Million Sellers"

Due to some rather large adjustments, all 3 consoles have at least 100 games that have sold 1 million units or more.

As of April 9th, 2011:

Nintendo Wii- 115 Games with 1 million in sales

Xbox 360- 115 Games with 1 million in sales

PS3- 99 Games with 1 million in sales

I think that this situation is indicitive of this generation where it became sustainable to have 3 successful consoles.  Congrats to Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony! The real winners of this gen have been the consumers.

Note: I am aware that 99 does not = 100, but in a week or so the PS3 will cross that milestone.

its great for developers for sure, they need platforms which can support they're games and all three consoles do that, sadly the same can not be said for the handhelds, but thats piracy's fault with the PSP

it is surprising to see the amount of games which are 1 million sellers be equal on Wii and 360 despite the huge sales gap, and the PS3 isn't exactly far behind, I am curious to see what percentage of all games released make it to 1 million on each platform though

For a long time 360 was 5-10 million-sellers ahead, of anything this is impressive for the Wii because it's caught up, showing that its games have massive legs.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

HSG5 has sold over 100K in Others, so you're right, but it's not reflected on the site.

Sony games were undertrackez.

This generation is samething special.

It would be surprising if both consoles had the same number of big budget games made for it (not that that's the only way to sell a million, but spending on advertising certainly helps), but third parties have tended to offer better support for the HD consoles, in some way negating the gap in user bases.

More like missing data from Others.

Wow, the PS3 really caught up. I guess EMEAA was undertracked a lot?

It appears so

Nice at the rate Sony is making exclusives that gap should be negated before generation ends.
