right now is a perfect time to buy one, you have so many great games for so cheap to get and theres also an insane amount of games releasing on the ps3 in the months to come

Maybe man, but you might wait longer. as I learned happily with the xbox I bought even after the 360 came out and had a good six months of cheap gaming extacy as I bought up and used up all the xbox exclusives I could before the PS3 came out. Buying a good system late is like having friends with benifits, you hardly have to give anything to get everything you want for hardly any commitment.                  Really if your serious about trying new things than your asking a silly question.

Hell no. There probably wont be a new playstation till 2012 at the lastest.

Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.

Does it have a sufficiently large library of games you are interested in?  If it does, then why would it be too late?  You know, if you decide to be a year behind everyone else, you will have a good time, and a lower costs.  If you choose to not be obsessed with the latest and greatest graphics, then you should feel like you got your money's worth.
