Killzone 3 is selling well for a PS3 exclusive. If you're asking why Killzone 3 sales aren't as strong as Halo, Call of Duty, or Gears of War it's because it doesn't have as strong of a multiplayer component. Multiplayer is fun, but there is nothing really bringing you back into the game. Resident Evil 5 sold well despite having poor multiplayer because of the strong label Resident Evil 4 laid. Also Killzone doesn't have as epic of a story arc as other Sci-Fi shooters like Halo, Gears of War, or Resident Evil. The events in Killzone 3 are much more loosly tied to the events in other Killzones compared to the other mentioned sci fi shooters. So..

1. Not as addicitve multiplayer as compeditors

2. Not the king of multiplayer games, so it's forgotten quickly since everyone else is playing Call of Duty.

3. Not so massive story arc.

Just to let you know Killzone has great multiplayer. Many people are on (possibly more than Reach as of today) And Gears 2 multiplayer was pretty bad it had many bugs and people complaining. For the Cod and Halo part I agree with you but come on we both know it deserves much more sales than the 1.4 million right now.

yep KZ3 is the best multiplayer i have ever played followed by a distant uncharted 2.

Killzone 3 with move is just perfect, i love the jet packs on Junkyard, i rape.

because stupid ps3 fans dont support their great exclusives.

if these games were on xbox they would sell like this:

Killzone 3: 6 million LTD

Uncharted 2: 7 million LTD

GOW3: 5.5 million

i dont get it these are the sales they deserve but they dont get them

Games like Uncharted and God of war would have sucked balls on 360. But i agree with you for Killzone 3.

DId you really just try to say that there are more people currently playing Killzone 3 than Halo Reach?  Here's a stat for you real quick.  Since KZ3's launch it has had 2,231,404 games played.

Just today alone Halo Reach had 2 million matches.  In other words in one day Halo Reach has had nearly as many player matches as Killzone has had since the day it launched.  The size of their communities and following isn't even remotley close.  The only franchise in the world that can hang with Halo in terms of FPS fanbase is Call of Duty.

That being said Killzone 3 is phenominal and easily deserves 5 million sales but unfortunatley won't get close to that at all.   I've been saying for a while Im worried about PS3 exclusive sales this year, both Killzone 3 and LittleBigPlanet 2 have had very slow starts and with the number of exlusive PS3 games plus all the excellent third party games this year sales are being cannobilzed.

#2 is the reason why I didn't pick it up.

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

Sorry, a series only has one chance with me. Plus, I don't want to have to buy a peripheral to attain the  full effect

To be fair COD does more than just hang with it, it's much, much bigger.

I used to feel the same way, and used to get really irritated at ps3 owners; but now I think it's mainly bc of the difference between ps3's install base in the U.S./Americas compared to 360. Don't U.S./Americas gamers tend to buy more games than those in other regions?

Kz3 has the best FPS multiplayer this gen. If anything, its multiplayer is what keeps the sales going.

And your point?  On 360 COD isn't far bigger Black Ops has blown past Reach but every other Halo has hung pretty close to COD.  Not to mention COD gets far more exposure being a multi-platform title.  And are you really trying to compare two franchises that have proven track records of over 10 million units to Killzone?

Edit: Actually after looking more closely I realized COD on 360 isn't a far bigger franchise as a whole AT ALL.

Halo 3 outsold COD 4 modern warfare and Call of Duty World at War and was only 1 million behind Modern Warfare 2.  In fact Reach has already outsold World at War and is on track to outsell COD 4.

So basically Black Ops is the first COD title to significantly outsell Halo, and I doubt further titles in the franchise will be as large.  Activision themselves have stated they think the next COD will sell less.
